That is looking a bit better now!

ild still say your upload speed values for adsl are not a great representation, considering your data is from Chorus who do not support Annex M, realistically its unlikely anyone is ever going to hit a solid 1.4mbit sync rate.

Also is feeling alot more responsive now.

One nice thing considering Wireless is bulked together, would be an indicator as to which company the Estimate is for, or being able to split up the two shapemaps for a better idea when making a decision for a rural location.

Thanks. We are considering splitting out the speeds when there are multiple providers.

For ADSL and VDSL we know that Chorus have data on sync speeds achieved and we've asked if we can see and publish some of that to address some of these questions. For example at the InTAC conference they showed that a number of people get a VDSL sync speed of 70Mb/s, which some in the industry have told us is not possible. If that doesn't show 1.4 as realistic then we'll drop that, but wherever possible we take the providers' word for it.

Ive had a sync speed of 68Mbps on VDSL before and there are probably 3-4 active people on here were near to 70Mbps down on VDSL currently, its possible and its happening and those in the industry need to wake up as the are dead wrong.

VDSL is 15Mbps - 70Mbps down and ~1-10Mbps up currently and when chorus has upgraded everyone to the newer 998 technology it will be 1-30Mbps up, with the down staying the same.

At my best, i was sitting at just shy of 70Mbit.. curled back to 65 to drop crcs.

I also used to get almost 70 on VDSL. Found some issues with my brothers address on the NBM, but have sent that off internally as it also shows incorrect borders on the Chorus Maps.

PS: VDSL Upload is a minimum of 5 & with 998 the Download will go up to 100.

Thats interesting to hear the Download limit is going up again for 998, as currently the Howick lines are 70/30 max.

The more interesting bit i find is your statement about a minimum upload of 5mbit, Given that it has been mentioned chorus are going to extend the reach of vdsl with the full rollout of 998 and considering 998 has less upstream bandwidth on 8b, a lower upload speed would most certainly be expected on those marginal lines.
