The real issue is when groups think that because they're the loudest, they're the majority. 99% comes to mind.

Yes thats true...

Ill be making a thread to have everyone on geekzone sign to get the cables re routed so they are 20m instead of 400m at my house. Lets see if the concept works :)

Dial up been there done that 1997 - 2004. Nope sticking to my guns, the fibre cable was in the ground already for a FTTN cabinet upgrade in Warrington.

You know how many Conklins there are, right? Lots and lots. Again (as mentioned earlier in this thread) the cost of replacing them all with fibre (or whatever) isn't cheap, or free. You seem to be in a similar situation to Outram as your population numbers are almost the same.
Wireless isn't an option?

Conklin's were not a temporary measure. They were a permanent solution to provide internet to areas where broadband was not available and they were rolled out at a very rapid rate to meet demand for broadband as they were an easy cost effective deployment because Telecom would simply use E1s for backhaul.

Unfortunately they're now a nightmare, with a person I know involved in the rollout who now actually regrets they ever happened because they're a major headache that in most cases has no solution. There were never any plans to replace them all, however many are being replaced as part of the RBI rollout. There will however be hundreds that will still remain, with RBI wireless primarily being the solution in those areas.

It is if you already pay $100 a month and the termination cost for swapping to another provider because Telecom wont resale RBI wireless , all adds up , plus will loose ports on cabinet and would be very hard to get back if RBI wireless not going to suit latency / data price etc. Just a real hassle, Chorus should just get on and replace the cabinet that would suit everyone in Warrington, it was on Telecom's to do list before the split.
