Hi all
Chorus Contractors are connecting a fibre cable to our cabinet approx 5km from Alexandra in a semi rural area.

I stopped and asked he said the existing cabinet is staying, I think it is called a Conklin or Coglin and  that internet may not be faster but downloads will be (unsure what that means)

my Question is what if any difference  may be coming or is this just allowing more people to connect

many thanks Pete

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the fibre work going on close to your local cabinet is not going to benefit residents serviced from AL/AB.

The work is to extend fibre from duct near that cabinet to supply backhaul to a new RBI cabinet further up Galloway  Road (near the corner of Shannon Road).

That new RBI cabinet (AL/L) is scheduled for deployment in June 2015.
