Hi All 

My parents have a Kristil Patch Panel (It has the cables running from the panel connected via RJ45 plugs rather being directly terminated into the panel)

I have got a master filter, the demac is connected to the orange/white pair, router to green/white pair, and the phone wiring to the white/blue pair. 

The patch panel has some DP switches so when you have the ph line plugged into the ph port  of the patch panel you can flick the switch to get the ph line patched through to that particular port. 

When I connect the master filter to the patch panel, the phone line works but the router wont sync (Thats the green/white pair patched into the patch panel via the RJ45 port). I know that the master filter is not faulty as if I connect the modem output of the filter into the phone port of the panel and the DSL will sync up.

I have the green wire crimped into pin 4 and the white wire crimped into pin 5 of the RJ 45 plug

I can't work out what I am doing wrong.

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

darkasdes2: So on the master filter, I have RJ45 socket on the orange/white pair so it makes it easy to plug the demac as it has a RJ45 plug on it, and 2 RJ45 plugs for the blue/white pair and green/white pair both crimped to pins 4 and 5. 

When I plug the phone line into the phone port, the ph line works and when I plug in the green/white pair to the required port of the patch panel for the router, I cant get the router to sync. 

If I plug the green/white pair to the phone port, the modem will sync up

Do I have the green/white wires on the right pins of the rj45 plug?



Thats the exact question that I was looking to try and answer -

haveing a look at the pics there appears to be only one socket on the pannel for the input of the two possible phone lines - The first line being on pins 4+5 and the second being on ?+?


After typeing up a big discription of what you can to to trace out the pins - I have deleted it as ive come up with a quick solution




My next asumption is that the router is not being installed in the same place as the pannel?

1. Plug your splitter into the the incoming line as you have suggested
2. Plug the blue/white pair into the incomeing line and switch the DIPs on the outputs to line1 as required for POTS service
3. Select to output that the router is to be attached to (eg output 11) - Switch the DIPs on that output to PABX extn and plug the green/white pair into the PABX extn socket (in my eg PABX 11).

How's that ?
