Chorus will be doing the work in the concrete art deco building I live in and it's a tricky path between those two.

Does anyone know if they can use the square conduit often used on surface mounted electrical wiring?

KiwiME: It's just for me, one resident/owner, the others will branch off the ETP to other places.  I'm told the ETP has (12) fibres installed. There are two other tenants (shops,) neither have signed up yet and given how fast our ADSL2+ is I wonder if they ever will.

Rectangular trunking would be ideal and a $hundred or two to pay for it does not bother me.  Which reminds me - has anyone had to pay for "extras" and how is that administered?

What's the diameter of the item(s) inside the conduit/trunking, meaning the fibre(s) with jacket or whatever?  There are some wall mouldings to traverse and I think the trucking can be relieved at the back to pass over them provided the contents are small enough.

Thanks for the replies so far!

Ok - your type of ETP is called a FAT or mini-FAT (Fibre Access Terminal) and is like a permanent extension to the Fibre network layed out in the street into or onto the side of what is reffered to as a multi-dwelling unit (MDU), as im sure you are aware this becomes the interconnect point for your's and furture connections from your building.

The Trunking we normaly use is in the top lefthand cnr of this image

The general sizes can be found in this brochure from Marley  (we dont always use this brand but its a good example)

The two fibre service cable is approx 6mm in Diameter

Discuss what you want to have installed with the 'Scopper' that will come to look at the requirements for your installation ( this may or may not be the same people that come to look at the installation of the FAT - which is even though may be installed by the same company is handled seperatley)
