Hello there.

Since Moved to New address, got fibre (Oh yes finally upload speed lol)

I have installed alarm by myself and it is operational and ready to connect, the only issue i don't have any copper line and i want to put alarm on IP based monitoring.

Alarm have Backup battery and i can put ONT with Router on Backup system using this good product ( http://www.constantvigil.com/shop,shop,2,1,001.html ). But does the local Chorus Optical Exchange have backup power and how long it is operating in case of blackout? I only ask about it for alarm Purposes.

Thank you!

Kir'

Sorry about my English guys :>

Kirdog:

So does it mean Optics will be down in case of local power cut?

Just didn't get it fully.

Kir.

read the post above, pretty much all of the optical light terminals (the thing that sends the light to your house) are in the exchanges, these have battery/generator backups, so you will still have internet for as long as the exchange has power (how long is a piece of string)
