so just in,

Adding Dynamic Line Management to Ethernet-based ADSL

After successful trials, we’re upgrading ADSL lines with dynamic line management (DLM) and also optimising DLM on VDSL. Your customers will see better speeds and improved stability from 3 April 2017.

Seen some impressive stuff from the adsl trial, even 6dB snr connections on chorus hardware!

The headline numbers are looking decent too.

@richms try not to get too excited though ;)

alot of it comes down to what many of us have been saying, 17a is underused in nz..

Considering the such profile is controlled by DLM... essentially DLM has been holding everyone back till now... :/

Yep exactly, and sure there are arguable reasons for it.

Not quite guys :)
Historically DLM could not manage the spectrum change between 8b/17a (and back again).  So This selection was based on loop (electrical) length only.
Also - don't forget 8b has higher power.

The new dd-DLM is able to manage the spectrum switch.

DLM hasn't been holding everyone back, a DLM upgrade has allowed us to change the way we do things in this space.
