Here is mine, just need to get a new mount for the main screen as it is a tad low. The screen to the right is for my wife when she works here (Rarely)

Given the amount of stuff on it my desk (Mac mini, Windows PC, work laptop, 3 screens etc) it is pretty clean however detritus from small people accumulates on the end.

I swear the bangle isn't mine your honour.

I can't cope with clutter. I was thinking its too cluttered now. I was a clear desk fanatic in the office and the associated abuse 😀

The new iMac is very nice but the drop down to a 24 inch monitor was too much to give up for me.

I'm interested to know about any random ergonomics you find useful in your work area.

A recent post here about chairs reminded me I have not changed any gear for a while. I usually make it a habit to change things for ergonomic variety, regular change of position, avoiding repetitive things. Too chicken to approach HR so just bought a bunch of stuff as I sometimes do. Eh that sounds silly maybe I will now. Anyway..

Impressions after a month:

The seat cushion and back cushion made a big difference to my out of date office chair. Well worth it. Went from bad to good. Took a couple of weeks to get used to it and to find the right cushion positions.

The kneeling chair is ok for $99. At 100kg I'm too heavy for the cushion density. Definitely was positionally jaded with the existing office chair and this provided some good variety while getting un-jaded. After a month I don't feel the need for it so often. The finish on the metal parts of the chair is not close to perfect. It works so I'm not sending it back to Aus. Ymmv. Next time around might try a $200 one somewhere if density is better.

The mechanical keyboard is surprisingly fun and good. After a couple of months the key landing seems a bit hard. I'll add a mouse pad underneath and see if that feels better.

The mouse is actually quite nice compared to the older razr I was using. It's a nice change.

You can always add a larger second monitor if you need it. I was in the apple store the other day and did have a bit of buyers remorse for buying the Mac mini.

I actually ended up buying the Kogan mechanical keyboard a few weeks back for use as an emergency second work station ID we need it. Glad I did now we are both working from home again.

It's not too bad, can't complain for $35, it's good enough to use but the font and symbols on the keys are horrible. Luckily I don't tend to need to look at them to find it an issue.

Also got a mouse and microphone from Kmart for the workstation a few weeks back for about $2.50 each. Again they are not the most amazing products but for emergency use and under $5 they get the job done.

Otherwise we got really lucky, we moved office at work and they sold off a load of stuff a few months back, so since last lockdown we've upgraded to one big desk with a riser on one side and three monitors. It's big enough to fit two keyboards if I've of us is happy with just a single monitor. Now we just need to finish building our house so it's not taking up half the living room.

Who here has used desktop matts instead of mouse pads? I have to use something as the mouse won't work on my white desk. I fave tries marking lay-points and lines on the desk without success. Do the matts work and are they durable? my mouse pads last about three months before what feel they are gross half a dozen mouse pads a year

I use a 3M mouse pad. I tried finding the old 3M Precise Mousing Surface which is flexible/floppy but the pad is the same height (a mm only) and stick to the surface.

Most flat surfaces will work fine with a laser mouse if they're not too reflective. Even a dinner placemat or something will work. I just use my desk with no pad, but I don't have any inconsistencies in the surface of the desk.

I have one of these for my desk.

Have had it since October last year, no issues with it. It is very durable and ive spilt a number of things on it and it holds up well.
Ran it through the washing machine after knocking a beer over on it and its still like new.

It took a bit of time to get it shipped here however....
