It rarely does and there are also supply issues to consider. Before everyone gets too excited about 3000 series pricing, the 2080Ti launch price was US999, in reality it was US1,199 even in the US.

From all I've read, I'm pretty confident theo 3080 will be around the 1400 mark, plus or minus 15%. At least I hope that's the case.

That's currently 1235.00 NZD. I hope so, I'll definitely be getting the 3090 then. I hadn't looked into an upgrade for years until a few months back, then I saw the 2080TI and nearly shat myself. After a heap of reading I could see that It was just a perfect storm for GPU pricing due to Mining etc. Quite happy with my timing now. I have a 10900KA, Z490 board and 32GB of DDR4 sitting here ready to go in but I kind of want the whole experience to hit me at once instead of running all of that with a 980TI until release.

No Founders Editions for Australia, which means none here I guess. So we are stuck with the hideous, probably overpriced, partner card options. I hate all of them I’ve seen so far.

True RE the card's basic profile looks, but I'm not overly concerned as FE are typically the worst on thermals & noise. LEDs a non issue with Aura / Auros making that customizable.

I imagine the news of the 3000 series cards is fully priced in. Most people buying a new card will know the next generation of chips is on it's way.

2080 Ti's are still commanding in excess prices far in excess of $500

Of course current pricing will reflect the value of waiting (I.e. buyers who are willing to wait until the 3000 series release, and sellers who are willing to dump their cards to get maximum value now before the 3000 series actually lands).

Market will change again when 3000 series actually lands, then again when the cards become commonly available from multiple manufactures.

Will be a number of people that will upgrade as soon as it is available, but won't sell their current card untill the new one is installed.

Fantastic, The 3080 looks like the sweet spot. Although for those who don't want to spend that much a 3070 looks like great value too.

Im not a console gamer, not interested tbh. I am dissapointed that the 3080 20Gig model will be about 9 months+ away. As the video ram is important for VR.

I wouldn't be rushing to buy a PS5 or new xbox either. Wait & see.

FWIW I will be pre-ordering a 3080. :D

In that case you REALLY want to wait 2 months. The 16GB 3070Ti was already advertised OEM by Lenovo - the Ti cards exist and nVidia could very well do a DIY release this year but its AMD's move next.

In that case you REALLY want to wait 2 months. The 16GB 3070Ti was already advertised OEM by Lenovo - the Ti cards exist and nVidia could very well do a DIY release this year but its AMD's move next.

Yeah - and they very quickly yanked the page haha. I am just really keen to see benchmarks, but they are apparently nda till the 14th for founders, and 17th for partner cards. I'll be waiting a few months myself till things stabilize and we can see actual performance of the various cards (and their are no weird bugs or anything), but a 3070ti with more memory would be nice.

Also worth remembering Lenovo has a history from past hardware launches of listing hardware that never ended up coming out

Ive got a new computer with a 2070 super coming in the next week. Might stick with that for 6 months and hope the prices drop a bit on the 3,000 series.

It might be ideal to wait and see what AMD do with Big NAVI. But I can't imagine them taking the top spot. If I hold fire on ordering a 3080 there will be supply shortages.

The 3070ti 16GB will exist and is probably the perfect fit. But I rekon it will not be until about mid next year and I would like to replace my 1070 before cyperpunk and new COD titles come out at end of year.

That's pretty much where I am at as well, my 1080ti is starting to creak a little bit under some of the newer games and needs its thermal paste replaced.

Don't want to risk damaging it replacing the paste until new cards are available though!

If a 3080ti comes out a year or more down the line I would consider selling and trading up but it would depend on cost and relative performance.
