Just had my 4 month old I-Mate stolen from work today, taken from under my nose in a
mobile phone store, not impressed

So the one positive to come from this is i get to upgrade to something better.
My question is what is better?

I didn't need the slide keyboard... don't want it in fact.
WiFi/Bluetooth are essential
More system memory the better
Would prefer Media Player 10
Prefer SD card to CF, although they all seem to have SD
Not really up for a mini-sized PPC, i like a big screen.
Almost certainly needs to be a phone as well

Any tips, I only really know O2/I-Mates.... what else is out there?

Sorry to hear this... Not nice thing to happen.

For Pocket PC Phone Edition you pretty much have to stick with the i-mate PDA2k. The alternative is the i-mate Jam, but it does not have wireless LAN, one of your requirements.

The other alternative is the HP iPAQ h6345. But it's too slow, small memory, Bluetooth doesn't work well and the keyboard is an attachment, so you have to carry two things or have a bulkier Pocket PC than your old i-mate PDA2k.

I just saw O2's XDAIIi... not in Asia-Pacific for a couple of months though.

Very nice device, I think I will have to make myself wait
Just like the first XDAII, but more goodies.
