freitasm: Nokia 1020, from Telecom NZ, updated this morning:

If I interpret this correctly, the "Telecom" 1020 is not branded with any Telecom logos and Telecom are not involved with the release approval process?

I'm not sure if its Windows 8 or WP8 (or a combination of the two) but when I attempt to move photos off the phone, it only copies them?

Does anyone know where the NFC sensor is on these? I've tried all over the place, but no luck.

Ive used NFC in a game called Munzee where there are NFC enabled patches.
I found by tapping them at the top of the phone I could "capture"the data

Yes, enabled along with Bluetooth and WiFi.

Thanks. Successfully negotiated a Bluetooth connection with my NFC headphones.

Turns out the NFC on my laptop has stopped working since Win 8.1, I've logged yet another call with Sony for that.

So after 4 weeks the weaknesses for me (primary comparison is Nokia N8) are:

• Phone dialler does not perform contact name completion
• SMS to group does not split (with original message) on individual response
• Cannot turn of while charging
• Have to manually sync after deleting email
• email tile does not display email (calendar does, but only next item)
• Bulky

Strength:

• Camera
• More than one exchange account supported with unified calendar
• Large, clear screen

Manual synch if you're getting enough new email being pushed to you, you'll not notice this

Agree there. Removing an item from the phone will eventually remove from the mailbox once it's automatically synchronised. Even if an item takes a few minutes to be remove (if no manual action is initiated or no new email arrives triggering the sync) is not a big deal really.

Thanks, giving this a try, it has some very unpredictable pattern matching that returns results with no identifiable sequence.

Depends on how many clients you have connected to the account.

this is similar to the smart dial feature from Windows Mobile

it should match the first / last name very quickly. I personally prefer this way more than the stock built in Phone "app"
