"should" agreed, but I have several contacts where I can see no match. It highlights which I assume it considers the match to be, but it's not. this means that people with short first names are pushed far down the list behind a set a results that have no discernable match.

This would not be an issue if I did not have a few hundred contacts.

The contact I want is way down the list of results. The results that are appearing seem fine and have not caused problems previously, I'll cross check with the N8 tonight.

Checked on the N8 and Win 6.1 and phone dialler name completion on my Exchange contacts is fine, so I'm guessing it's a problem with my work Exchange server contacts, which I have no control over so I have uninstalled the application.

Hi I am totally new to Windows Phone after coming to smart phones via Android some years ago, so after a few hours I am still in a state of wondering what the heck I have done and obviously have a lot to learn.

My first simple question is do apps auto update as I don't see anything in the 'store' that says yes or no?

Thanks in advance

Store checks once a day for updates and Live Tile updates to let you know how many app updates are pending

Thanks Nathan. I guess the other immediate question is that while i bought the phone for the camera i did not expect so many phone apps. Have people over time refined their choice of what works best?

lyonrouge: I'm not sure if its Windows 8 or WP8 (or a combination of the two) but when I attempt to move photos off the phone, it only copies them?

I was able to move the photos off the phone using Windows 7.

It is pretty good for photos and a few good image apps available. Not as fast between photos because saving a 18MB image (optional full resolution) takes time.

Did you cut files or the "camera roll" folder?

Are you running a local administrator or user?

Hmmm, wonder if it protects external folders when running as user?
