Hi,

Can I sell my Xbox One here in NZ, move to live in say Vietnam, buy a new local Xbox One there, load all my current games on it and pickup where I left off here?

Is anything (outside of bluray/dvd) region coded about the Xbox One profile or games etc?

You should be ok. Xbox One games are region free.

For anyone coming along now to read this, be aware that Xbox games are NOT region-free and games bought in NZ to be played on a NZ profile are stuck with that if you move overseas. You can take your NZ Xbox overseas - even to North America - and just buy a local power adapter, they run just fine.

However, if you want to keep playing the games you already have then you need to keep your NZ profile and stay disconnected from internet. The minute you change countries in your profile you lose access to the NZ games and must repurchase them if you want to keep playing those games. You lose save games, of course, and are forced to start over.

Aha! Thanks for that. I will go to bed tonight less stupid! I had to race out to double-check our Xbox. It's Xbox 360 so anyone reading what I posted do please keep that in mind.

I run a US microsoft account to get cheaper games on the xbox one, other than often not being able to get the 360 games - even the games with gold game (even on a US 360) because of their horrid payment method validations (unless I buy a US prepaid card which is usually more hassle than the game is worth to me)

Never a problem. Still get matched to annoying aussie kids on GTA online. No idea why anyone would run a NZ based account with the higher prices and often limited selection.

I use the country migration tool every so often (set my account up in USA, moved back here, cheaper games there) and have never lost access to anything when swapping back and forth. But it is written when migrating Gt region you may lose something (fwiw, Xbox one purchases are as simple as swapping the region on your console settings - that way I choose whether I use nz or is currency in my Microsoft wallet)
