Having the Plus has certainly changed the way I play the game now.

For situations where I can look at my phone, I will check to see if the Pokemon it has detected is one of the handful I am interested in.
If not, then I will use the Plus for my one ball attempt - if it runs, then I still get XP and have one used one ball. If it doesn't run, then I will be probably transferring it anyway.

I understand we have 141 possible Pokemons in NZ... (excluding the region specific and legendary ones) anyone there yet? I got 132 so far and the ones I'm missing will take a while to get as there's quite a lot of candies to go.

BTW, what about Kangaskhan? Any report of it being found in NZ as it was supposed to be available in Oceania, not just Australia...?

117 in the Pokedex.

Numbered up to 149.  So I'm guessing if we only get 141 of those, there will be a couple of gaps.

What a sec... Are you saying that the Plus gives you XP for failing to catch a pokemon?

There's someone on the Facebook Pokemon Go Auckland group that claims to have caught a Kangaskhan in NZ, but that's the only one I've heard of (besides the GPS spoofers).

Huh, I've never noticed. Now I don't feel quite so cheated when one flees.

I am at 129, currently walking Geodude to get both of his evolutions (about 30 candy to go)
Then I am walking Pikachu to get his evolution. Then it's a toss up between Dratani, Kaboto, Vulpix, Grimer, Duduo and Charmander to get enough candies (lots and lots of walking required!!)
Then the rest I can get in New Zealand are going to be very lucky egg hatches or wild finds.

As others have mentioned, yes you get 25XP when a Pokemon flees (took me a while to figure that out)

Had an epic capture of Blastoise last nite and so have 132 to go

Nintiac have gone after the online maps again and have implemented in game messages and other changes to remove anything that it deems cheating.
Also, nests have once again changed only a week or so after the last migration.

Anyone here from Christchurch have any tips on where to find Bulbasaur, Charmander, Vulpix, Grimer, Kabuto and Dratini as I am heading up in a weeks time for a hunt... otherwise I am walking for around 1600km for all the candies I need to accumulate!

The new update (Android 0.41.2) is good if you have a Plus
If you manually interact with a Pokemon, then the Plus does not automatically disconnect any more; tt also seems quicker at finding Pokemon if multiple appear in the same area

The Go Plus is going for crazy prices on TradeMe. There's one currently up to $155 (12 bids). There's meant to be a new shippment coming, but not sure if it'll reach NZ as I overheard an EB Games employee telling someone that they are only getting the initial shipment and have no plans on getting any more (although if there was demand for them then why wouldn't they get more?)

The eBay store for Aus/NZ is currently saying there's more stock due end of October, so I am checking it each morning in the hopes of getting in quick when it becomes available. When I was in Australia last week, EB Games was taking pre-orders for the next wave. I assume we can't do the same here? I would like one for both me and my son, but there's no way I'm forking out ridiculous amounts to people on-selling them on TradeMe.

I watched a Go Plus go for $176 on Trade Me yesterday. That's over double the retail price!

I popped into my local EB Games (Glenfield Mall) and asked when they'd be getting more stock in and the first guy I talked to said "Yeah, those, well i don't think they're making any more, but I'll ask my manager cos he's been to a manager's conference recently and might know" and the manager said "We might get some more whenever Nintendo decide to make some more, maybe next year sometime?". So they were about as useless as <insert useless item here>.
