Wow, disappointing. I think the Ebay store might be the best best, then. Or if all else fails, an apple watch with the app, if you can afford it.

You got me to check my Watch apps now. Can't see any Pokemon apps there yet :(

Niantic said "late 2016" and Macworld suggests end of October.

Well, over the weekend I headed to Christchurch and had good fun catching Pokemon while driving around getting to locations I had been told had what I needed ...

On Tuesday Niantic changed the rules again and now the PoGo Plus does not detect anything when going over 30km/h (ish)

How annoying! Kind of makes it a bit redundant for Pokestop collection, though the egg hatching is still super useful. I checked at EB Games in Glenfield Mall today - they were allocated the grand total of 5 more units for the next stock shipment and they've all been pre-ordered already. Same with Takapuna.

I am going to double check this recent change that speed now affects the Plus .. I changed the battery on the Plus last night as it was disconnecting every few minutes and then wouldn't reconnect
So fingers crossed it was a low battery issue (but I doubt it)

Am heading to Auckland for work over the long weekend, hope in my free time I can get to the Viaduct for Dratini and the Domain for Charmander ...
Others I need (Grimer, Vulpix, Kabuto) will be hopefully lucky findings.

I had concerns about the battery life but was told that it should last 3 or 4 months. So how much did you get out of it?

^ Looks like the 23rd September I received, so just slightly less than a month.

I am sure the battery had some life left in it, but the disconnections were getting annoying

Interesting lunchtime.

The whole of Lambton Quay turned into a Ghastly nest.  With the odd Cubone for variety.  Managed to get enough Ghastly to upgrade one through both evolutions and I've still got 67 candy left over.  It was just nuts.

Also noted that walking the Pikachu is giving me a candy per 0.25km rather than the usual 1km.  Confirmed this with workmate who is walking another 1km pokemon and is also getting the 0.25km bonus.

Halloween thing maybe?  Not able to research much from work.

It’s Halloween season and we have a treat for you! From October 26th to November 1st, you’ll earn double the amount of Candy every time you catch, hatch and transfer Pokémon! Don’t forget your Buddy Pokémon, because they will help you earn Candy four times as fast.

Another question - Is anybody up to the play on the topic of maps - Are there any new apps / sites that are up and running after the latest Niantic server security updates?

http://www.fastpokemap.se/ works, but is a bit slow and you sometimes need to do several scans to get it to work.

Auckland was a bit of a bust for me; there was a global nest change the day before I left which meant no more Charmanders at the Domain.
I was able to get to Albert Part and caught enough Kabouto to evolve; no Dratini for me on my walks around (and around and around) the Viaduct/Mission Bay.

I like the candy bonus for catching/transferring and hatching Pokemon, and the extra generous buddy candy
What I don't like is that 80-90% of all spawn points now just spawn Gastly, Cuebone, Zubat, Drowzee and Mewoth (excuse the spelling) who are all a lot harder to catch than others ...

I also had an issue after upgrading to the newest version - the Plus has a "feature" where it disconnects after an hour and after updating when I tried to reconnect it to the game, the game would stop working and the only way to reconnect was to reset the Plus and restart the phone. Thankfully this is not an issue with the older version so I downgraded.

And just hit Level 29, took 13 days to go from Level 28 to 29 thanks in part to road trips.

Pokemon Go Plus is currently available in the Nintendo eBay store. With shipping, it's $65 AU. I've ordered one for each family member playing the game, by checking out as a guest and using different delivery names, email addresses and payment methods (although my credit card payment still got confirmed with PayPal email, so I hope it doesn't trigger a match with the one I actually chose to pay for with PayPal). The rule is one per Ebay account, and duplicates will be cancelled, so I am hoping all my orders stick - they are genuinely for different people, it's just that one's at work and one's at school (and is too young to shop online). I suspect they'll be all sold out by tonight, so get in quick!
