^ had no issues with Google logon at all

Was in Christchurch last week for a few days, completly different "biome" compared to Dunedin which enabled me to get some new Pokemon for the Dex. "Rare" Pokemon however were always too far away for me to go after (information via a private scanner) and still need the Mareep family and lots of walking plus evolution item luck to complete my Generation 2 PokeDex.

Noticing that since the Nougat update on the S7, the GPS is having issues staying connected indoors. Any other GPS based app has no such issues. Only PoGo.

Annoying as it keeps spitting errors when trying to catch things outside work.

Other than that, making good progress on Gen 2. Managed to hatch a Mareep out of a 10km egg, so they can be acquired. Will either need to walk it or hope for more hatchings though.

Currently walking a Larvitar to try to get the evolutions of that. It's a 5km/candy one though, so could be a while.

65 candy (or 325km to go (135km already walked)) with my Larvitar
Once evolved I need another 68 candy to level the Pokemon from Level 20 to Level 30, so fingers crossed between then and now I manage to find a wild higher level Larvitar to make the process a bit quicker.

Then I'll be walking my Houndoum to be able to evolve.

I'm sitting on quite a few evolutions, but ever since that guy from Niantic said "save your candies" after they won an award the other week, I've been holding off doing them. I have had good luck with evolution items. Got a Metal Coat from a stop the first weekend of the Gen2 release (my sister got one from the same stop about 10 minutes before I did). Then a King's Rock from my first post-Gen2 7-day bonus, and another one randomly with my Go Plus. Lastly, a Sun Stone with my Go Plus the other day. I promised my son I'd wait until he had an evolution item he could use - he has an Up-grade but not enough Porygon candy. I find I'm in no hurry to complete the Gen2 dex. It's nice having things still to do in the game and I don't want to go back to being bored too quickly. I'm interested in what the big gym overhaul is going to bring when it's introduced sometime in the next few months (according to an interview with John Hanke in a German magazine).

I haven't had the best luck with evolution items.

In a few days after the release of Gen 2 I had managed to get 2x Metal Coat and 1x Sun Stone - used those to do some evolutions.

I then managed to get an Up-grade last week and used that on my only Porygon. It was a week before my next evolution item (another Up-grade) and then today I have received another Up-grade and 2x Metal Coat. Really need Kings Rock (x2), Dragon Scale and Sun Stone to complete some evolutions and reduce my dex count.

Anyone found Unown yet in the wild?

Sitting at work, opened the game to re-sync the GoPlus and eggs started hatching.

The first egg hatched into a Porygon, my 2nd - which enabled me to let out a slightly louder than expected "yes". The vast majority of 2/5km eggs are trash, but this was one very appreciated hatch
Need another 27 candies to evolve, as I have managed to accumulate 3 Up-grade items ...

Nice! I've hatched a couple of Togepi this week, so as soon as I stop saving my candies, I'll be able to evolve the best one. I caught a Togetic in town the other week, but it's a rubbish one.

10 Pokemon to go to complete the Dex, and I finally caught a high IV, high level Cyndaquil to complete my Typhlosion evolution.

A week after getting a few Up-grade and Metal Coat evolution items, I got ... another Up-grade .. taking me to 4
I'll keep 5 before deleting any more that I get in

Interesting to see The Silph Roads research into eggs they published over the weekend. Inside each km level of eggs is a probability of getting a specific Pokemon; after Generation 2 launched, Dratini went from pretty hard to get to pretty common in 10km eggs, and Larvitar is not as hard to get via eggs as expected.

I've got 20 candy to go before I can evolve Larvitar to Tyranitar ...

My sister has hatched 4 Larvitar already. I've just caught a 98%IV Quliava which will make a great Typhlosion. There's a Cyndaquil nest locally so I'll be visiting that often over the next week to get the candies up. Sadly it's only about half the possible CP but I can always power it up - it's worth the stardust :o) I've got 2 10km eggs on the go right now. I'd love one to be a Dratini. I have an enormous one waiting to evolve into a Dragonite. At 110 candy.

Hatched my fourth Larvitar this morning which took me from needing candies to having more than enough to do the evolution line.
Even though to power up to Level 30 I will need another 60 candy, I think I will change my buddy over to the only Flaffy I have caught in order to get the Mareep candy count a touch higher.

I'm walking one of my two hatched Mareep at the moment. I'm keen for Ampharos, given the predominance of water-types in gyms and how effective electric types are against them. Caught a Dratini at the water spawn point in my street yesterday (thank you, local creek), which I Pinap'd so now I just need one more with Pinap to reach my evolution target. Even if I hit that today, I'll wait for my two 10km eggs to hatch just in case one gives me a better Dratini than the one I have earmarked. My best one is 80%IV but 621CP, meaning it'll probably be my highest CP Pokemon, and Dragonite is mainly good for sitting atop gyms where CP is everything. Although, that could all change with the gym shake-up coming in the next few months.

^ The only 10km I haven't hatched is Mareep, so I am a tiny bit jealous.

I am down to needing 7 Pokemon for the Dex, 4 that need evolution items (Politoed, Kingdra, Slowbro, Sunflora), Mareep, Ampharos and Unown
