It really irks me that extra storage costs half the price of the actual console itself.

My partner asked if I wanted the 2TB card for XMas... even though she was buying it, I couldn't bring myself to say yes.

It's just stupid expensive.

Getting the 1TB card instead :-)

If you look at the tech behind it and then remove the exclusivity markup from Seagate, its not so far off the bare drive price.  I'm waiting for other manufacturers to create their own once Seagate's agreement with MS ends... should see prices approach drop and more capacities introduced.

I was hoping it would also be on sale on black friday but it only dropped ~$10 where as earlier in the year it was marked down by ~$70 I recall.

The new 2tb one is the price of a series X.

The storage is still putting me off the series s, I know I can buy a usb ssd to move games around for now but that's another $100 to double the storage you the series X level, might as well just pay the $150 extra.

If the series s finds its way down to $450 I might bite, it's come close using codes on the market but not quite reached it, just need a good discount from Noel Leeming or the warehouse to coincide with a 10% off weekend and we might be talking. Or a series X restock on one of those weekends would also be acceptable.

Thought I'd share here as it seems the only series X related topic on here. There's a some series X in stock at the warehouse, they e sknehow been on there since about 11:30 this morning so fingers crossed the supply might be reaching the demand soon, or the bits just haven't seen them yet.

For reasons I'd rather not get into, I have a spare Xbox One, that we were going to sell, but there are now 4 people who like the Xbox and the Game Pass Ultimate, and we are wondering about whether with 2 xbox's on the same account we could play the same game against each other or co-op. I am thinking of Forza Horizon for example? If I log in on my Series X and my Son on the Xbox One could we play against each other?

Yes, provided one of them is set as your “home” Xbox. You’ll then need to sign in to the account with gamepass on the other Xbox for both to play online together under the one subscription.

I'm a bit late to this thread, but if you want to expand storage of the Series X, this isn't a bad option if you don't want to spend silly money on the card

https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/HDDSEA40020/Seagate-Gaming-2TB-Game-Drive-For-Xbox---With-Resc

I'm using one with my X, running games off of it without any issues.

And for Charging, I added one of these

https://www.jbhifi.co.nz/xbox-series-xs-accessories/stealth-sx-c10-x-twin-rechargeable-battery-packs-for-xbox/407049/

The downside of the charger above, says don't leave it unattended while charging.

Hi.

Quick question, can you steam games to one device (Upstairs tv)  whilst using the console to play games at the same time?

Cheers

If you mean using a single console to play both a locally installed game and stream an Xbox Cloud Gaming game at the same time, then no that won’t work.

But, if you mean using your two separate consoles (or potentially a console and a smart TV with the Xbox app - but I haven’t tried that), then the position should be the same as above (i.e. one set as “home” the other logged into the primary account). The streamed games basically behave the same as locally installed games.

I did test that I could sign into Game Pass Forza 5 on the Xbox, Then I pulled the ethernet cable to force it into offline gameplay mode. Then I was able to sign in on the PC to xbox cloud streaming and play Forza 5 there at the same time.

So, we just tried to do this finally, and not only can we not play together in the same game (forza) we can't play on two consoles at once, at all with any game.

I have to be signed in as the person with game pass, for my son to be able to play under his profile, and if I am logged in on two consoles, I can't play on both at the same time.

I’m assuming that it pops up the error that you’re already signed in on another console?

I tend to do this the other way around: I am logged in with my game pass account (and am playing) on the secondary console, and the kids are on the home console under their own accounts.

Another option is to make yourself another account using a secondary email address, and use that on the home console (rather than your primary game pass account).

Your Son should be able to play on your "Home" xbox (you are not signed in there), while you play signed in on the other one. This works for me (although, we have not tried to play the same game at the same time).

Yes. It says I am already playing x game on x console, and if I log out, obviously I don't have acccess to the game any more. I tried changing the upstairs one to Home, but that didn't work. That simply allows the upstairs xbox to use the games in my subscription, even if I am not logged in.

My son has a MS account already and he is logged on there. If he is logged in upstairs and I am not, he has no access to the gamepass games.
