Yes, much talk about the current EX pass debacle.  I think that the developers and/or administrators at Niantic are drunk.

Good hunting efforts though.  :-)

LOL, my sentiments exactly. There are theories about L10 S2 cells and system overhauls, or it might just be a single wave to more remote gyms as a "Happy Mewtwo's Birthday" handout, and they've had to REALLY relax the pass selection criteria to "anyone who ever interacted with this gym" in order to get enough passes to send out. I'm completely confused at this point and rather annoyed on behalf of those in my raid group who don't have Mewtwo and are now even more in the dark about how to get one.

Weekend in Auckland was pretty much a bust - GPS would not lock while I was in the office, no chance to get any spawns or Pokestop items.
Hotel spawns were pretty average, though I got some pretty decent drift (and I was on a Pokestop so I used a few lures)
Did not manage to do any raids while up there as I wasn't near gyms during raid times (that whole work thing got in the way)

Had to stay an extra day as well, which annoyed since it was nice and sunny at home while it was wet and humid up there.

Did take Monday of work in order to take care of some things that I had to take care of in the weekend, and then spend a good part of the day doing a bunch of Rayquaza raids (which took a couple of raids to get my throws correct, and only managed to catch 2 out of 5, both with poor IVs)

Most of the crew I hang out with have their 2nd EX pass .. I still don't have one, but as I said before ... don't care

However what annoys me more is still no shiny Aron or Swablu after far too many catches .. even tried to chain my catches to get a shiny without success

Oh, it's a shame your trip wasn't productive. I am totally sick of the rainy weather. Both of my weather-boosted Kyogre were rubbish IVs and my son's birthday party got rained out and I had to have it in my house.

However, Saturday's round of raid passes was a total bonanza for my raid crew. All the people who hadn't receive one finally got one, including my sister. I got a third, and so did my son. Notably, two brand new gyms produced passes, including one that we'd been targeting for a couple of weeks. People on Silph Road were reporting multiple EX raids per L12 S2 cell, indicating that Niantic has divided the areas which could only host one raid at a time into quarters - L13 cells. I mapped them onto a Google map of the North Shore and checked the gyms in each, and we now have a whole pile of cells with just one or two eligible gyms, which makes targeting much easier. In fact, some of them are the ONLY gym in the cell. One of them produced an EX raid off the back of a single Kyogre raid, from what we can tell. So next round will be super interesting. We're hitting lone-gym cells this week experimentally.

I managed to pick up a shiny Swablu yesterday, my very first shiny.

Event is over, and immediately into a "valentines" event with triple stardust on Luvdisc/Chancey as well as a shiny Luvdisc -- so yet another shiny I won't get.

I'm done with shiny hunting .. I keep on clicking on every possible shiny only to be disappointed, while others are getting 2-3-4 with ease.
And then they do another 2 day event where they release yet another shiny into the game.

It's like this game just keeps on giving me heads all the time ...just give me a tail!

After I stop shiny hunting -- guess what I manage to get

About 30 minutes after the above post I managed to get a shiny Luvdisc and on Sunday while out raiding managed to get a shiny Swablu (right under the gym I was about to raid at)
Didn't go out on Saturday at all, so no shiny Poochy (but from reports, sounded harder to get due to the increase in the other "dogs" as well.
Still really want a shiny Aron ..

I'm done with shiny hunting also.

Since that appears to be the trigger phrase to get them.  :-p

3380 Magicrap caught and still no shiny of those.
Have a few Pika and Duskull in shiny but that's it so far.

When your not looking, the shinies arrive
Picked up Swablu #2 on the way to a raid via the GoPlus and saw it as I was IV checking the Rayquaza. Also my first raid at one of the Dunedin EX gyms - fingers crossed, maybe?

Still no additional shiny things.

Did Go+ a 100% wingull the other day though.  :-)

Also got my second EX pass for Monday.  Luckily just *before* I fly out to Oz for a week.  Hopefully this time the blimmen thing will actually stay in the ball.
