As I am relocating to asia, so prepaid my xbox one before the release and and ask my friend to pick it up and send it to me. the 2nd day I got the xbox one, the network module has a failure. Now I can not use it at all.

Contacted local xbox support, they don't support it at the moment as it won't get released for another year.
Contacted xbox one support in US, they asked me to send it back to my retailer which is MightyApe or to their shipping agent Fedex Trade Network at Texas, US. Both option would cost me another $150NZD at least and I also need to pay the shipping cost after they finish repairing. That's probably totally $400-500NZD, I can buy a PS4 instead seriously.

Now can anyone tell me what's going on with my xbox one?
Last night I was trying my last luck with this console, it works only with ethernet but not wireless.
This morning I tried again, it works with wireless.
I don't know whether the network component inside the console is loosely connected. At least I don't want to believe there is a ghost inside it or Microsoft was playing with me.
Hopefully, it will keep working when I get home today.

Have you considered it might be something as simple as IP addresses clashing. Im not sure the X1 would alert you to such a thing. just a thought.

The network configuration was all default. IP address is assigned by the router using DHCP and everything is automatic.
When I had the problem, Xbox did try to restart wireless(module), but unsuccessful. To me, the error means hardware failure, so does on the Xbox One online support.

After owning the Xbox One for less than 3 days the Kinect has died :(

Thankfully Microsoft support were easy to deal with and are organizing a replacement. The only issue I have is that while wiping dust off the a part of the Silver Xbox logo fell off :'( (I really wish they didn't use a glossy plastic as it is really prone to Micro Scratches which annoyed the hell out of me with the PS3).

However, overall I love the console.

The app just works on my Nexus 5

Make sure that both devices are on the same LAN network

Also are you using Smartglass for Xbox One? There are 2 apps in the Play Store

The little things make the biggest difference.

Well a couple of days after my Kinect failed so did my console :(

Had a horrible experience with Microsoft Support. The first time I called I spoke with someone and they were great but the call disconnected and when I called back I asked to speak with the original person but got told that I was lying and that I never called WTF.

They then refused to do anything and essentially told me to @#@$ off and hung up :| I called back and got the run around again but this time at least they organized an exchange and I have now sent the Xbox away to Australia (Even though it was purchased in NZ).

Hopefully, the Xbox I get won't fail me this time.

), I found the turn around time from Oz was pretty damn good with the surface, so hopefully it won't be too bad with the xbox.

Just checked the UPS tracking for the Kinect and Xbox One and they have been delivered to Microsoft (Or at least the distribution partner) today.

I haven't received any notification yet from Microsoft about when they are shipping the replacements. I hope it is before Friday as I will be flying to Australia to visit family and won't have anyone to claim the packages.

I am really missing playing Killer Instinct, Forza 5 and Fifa :(....I miss my Xbox

EDIT: Just checked the Microsoft site to check on the status of my exchanges and noticed they put the wrong return address..ahhhhhhhh!!!!

I had called them before returning the packages and they had said the addresses had been fixed but they never were :(.

Wasted another hour with support to get the addresses changed but not they won't send out the replacement for another 10 business days :'(

Just trying to work out the deal with regional settings and purchasing content on the X1.

I originally set my region to UK so I could play with the Kinect. Whenever I went into Movies, TV etc, it told me the MS ID I had didn't match the region for my Xbox, which doesn't matter since I don't (kinda) want to purchase movies or TV right now.

Having said that regional pricing for games is quite different, and the UK version for Peggle 2 works out at around $20NZD, the US for about $14NZD and the NZ version at $17NZD.

I thought I'd be clever and change my region to US and reboot, and then it wanted me to add a card, and would only accept US addresses etc. I thought OK, I can work around this, set my region to NZ, and my NZ card was present, switch back and my NZ Card isn't available.

How are people buying their content right now?

Do you have a US Credit Card? When I tried to put my NZ CC into my X1, it would only accept US Address etc, which then failed the billing check.

I guess I could set my gamertag as US and buy US Xbox Gift cards, but yesterday I tried and it wouldn't accept my NZ CC either!

I have an ANZ CC which worked with my YouShop set as billing address.

Amazon sells Xbox Gift cards digitally but I am pretty sure they only add to US gamertags like mine. I bought it from Amazon and it was emailed straight away and worked.

If you really want to add your NZ CC with US address on your MS account that you use to sign into Xbox One then go to https://billing.microsoft.com and 'add a new payment method' and it will accept it there. Your Xbox One then should have that same CC information on it as well providing it's the same MS account you signed in with.

I basically don't use my X1 any more as too many features don't work. Kinect doesn't support NZ (and I am English) -so cant be used, can't use music or video if I want to use Kinect (because of need to change country), need to put CDs in the computer, no DLNA, no TV support. For me it is just easier to go and use the computer.

There is no BBC iPlayer app yet for Xbox One. It will be released next year. Netflix and Hulu are there. In order to stream your video content for now on Xbox One, you have to use the 'Play to' functionality built into Windows 8 or WMP12 in Windows 7. There is no native DLNA client built into Xbox One.

Actually I also have buyers remorse about purchasing the Xbox1.

It seems it needs to download huge updates every week, and the games also seem to require large updates.. I must have used 5GB of data since i bought it.
I live in the country so data is slow and expensive.

I had also foolishly expected that I would be able to play xbox360 games on it.. My old PS3 could also play ps2 games when i bought it... but it seems now they just want you to buy new games.
And yes the voice commands dont work.. and they expect me to pay to use skype and surf the internet???
