If it's true, the first thing I'm doing is buying an extra 200 Pokemon storage spaces.

I've increased my bag space to the max and now I'm working on boosting my pokemon storage space (currently 1150). But I tend not to keep too many of each pokemon.

On another note, the pokestop outside my work has changed to a gym this morning, which is very handy as I have a work buddy that also plays and we can use it to do raids together, etc.

Wow, I am jealous of your gym! Is it on the North Shore? If so I might need to add it to the map. That suggests that another stop was either added or removed in your immediate area.

Both my item and Pokemon storage space is maxed out. I'm a bit of a hoarder, but I've unfavourited a lot of stuff and earmarked it for trade, so that will ease things a bit. Just need to find someone who has things I think are worthy of what I have to swap :)

The pokestop that turned into a gym is called "Candida Office Park Wind Cups" and is located near the corner of Constellation Drive and Parkway Drive. A new pokestop has appeared on the corner of Parkway Drive opposite the Police Station and called "Alien Tree Sculpture" (unfortunately not within reach of my office, but I think in getting the gym I got the better deal ).

Oh, I know where that is - I used to be a print specialist for a large company and we used Candida for our envelopes. I'll add it to the North Shore map :)

Before Community Day I need to devote some time to a) capturing all the stored Pokemon I have in my research queue and deciding what is a keeper and what goes to the Professor. Then I need to sort out the hat/sunglass Pichu/Pikachu and keep a couple of each for the collection, while also working out what I keep from all the other event variations ..
I did manage to sort out all the Eevees I had saved; 3 of each gender for Gen4 and 1 of each gender for Gen6, as well as a bunch of males (no females sadly) for more evolutions for Generation 1/2

Another project I wish to work on is to upgrade many of the Generation 2 Pokemon I evolved for the Pokedex entry - most were in the 82-89% IV range and now that my minimum IV floor is 91% (it should be 93% though), I want to a) confirm I have a non evolved version at that minimum IV floor and then b) remove the evolved form from my Pokedex .. many of these Pokemon have no relevance in any battles and sometimes just annoy me when the game auto picks them in my battle squad (I am looking at you Steelix) - so if I can remove them from storage, but at the same time have something saved if needed ..
Semi hard to explain what I want my grand plan to look like ..

Be interesting to see what the "Johto" research tasks will reward come August (the 2nd for us in New Zealand)

I'm going to catch some of my stored research encounters during Community Day, if there's time (because triple stardust) or otherwise wait for the Yokosuka stardust rewards. Now that the bug where they just went straight into the stack is fixed, I can choose to catch each new encounter right away, so there's no hurry to get rid of the existing ones.

I really need to clear out some space, though. I had 150 free slots a month back, and now they're almost all gone. Now that trading is here it's even harder to throw out things than it was before, but I guess nobody is likely to want some of the rubbishy ones. I was swapping them for Alolans hatched from overseas eggs but I have my gold Pilot medal now so there's no need to keep doing that.

That was a bug? I just thought they meant it to be like that. I had noticed that it had changed back to how it originally worked.

I think it was probably a band-aid to the bug where the game froze if you activated a research encounter, as that seems to be fixed now.

Had my 11th EX Raid, this time just around the road from where I live - the first in the town
Managed to get a 98% Mewtwo (with 14 Attack) .. here is hoping my 12th EX gives me a perfect (which is coming up this Saturday)

I keep on finding other things to do, but I need to clear out my research stack as well as my stored Pokemon in advance of Community Day in order to be able to catch as many Eevees as possible .. At the moment I have 250 slots free, which doesn't feel like enough. If they are planning on introducing Evolution stones to be able to control shiny Eeveelutions, I feel like they are running out of time to get a new update pushed to the Play/Apple store in order for us to beta test it ..

Bwahahaha. It was actually freaking cold at that EX raid. I don't think people appreciate the difference between dry cold and the kind of damp cold we get in Auckland, either, but I wasn't going to get into that on Reddit. Damp makes cold feel colder and heat feel hotter. I've been in sub-zero dry cold and felt much more comfortable. It was probably about 8 degrees at that raid with a go-right-though-you wind and all I had on over my sweater was a sherpa-lined hoodie. I left my down jacket and scarf at home because when we left the house it looked so nice and sunny. I chill easily, so I should have been better prepared.

Congrats on your epic Mewtwo!

I am very worried about Community Day. I have 25 slots left and so many things that I can't make decisions about throwing away or not. I'm hoping for Gen 4 to be announced and more storage to become available before the day, otherwise Friday night is going to be a painful cull, lol. My hope is that this Community Day is the launch of Gen 4, complete with associated evolution items (which they will need to stop people just immediately getting half the generation on Day 1). I suspect this because:

1) the timing is interesting - I fully expected Eevee to be November's Pokemon because Let's Go launches then
2) they're holding it over a weekend - apparently to help people get enough shinies, but they could have addressed that by increasing the shiny rates
3) it's listed on the Pokemon Go Summer Tour video as event #3, which gives it similar status to Dortmund, GoFest and Yokosuka
4) the YouTuber squad are going to it as guests of Niantic and filming another instalment of the Pokemon Go Travel video series
5) the poster for the summer celebrations featured Gen 4 starters
6) the announcement wording about "discovering the wonders of Evolution" and the fact that the Sinnoh professor is Professor Rowan, who studies Pokemon Evolution.

It just seems like they're putting a lot of emphasis on this particular Community Day and feels like it's extra special. Or, they just had nothing to fill the calendar this month so they slapped an "event 3" tag on it and made it two days long, and we're not going to get anything extra, lol.

So yay, another update to PoGo that BREAKS functionality .. who saw that coming (a rush fix to the berry bug, which has then been made worse) in order to have an app that has the required files for Community Day ..

I want to get peoples thoughts on a situation I have created in my local Instinct chat ..
We had someone new who joined the group (invited by another player) - turns out they were Valor who hated their team and had created a new account to join Instinct and will delete their Valor account (or at least not use it). Everyday I am kicking this person from gyms they have entered with the Valor account, and I have been calling them out on it.
My "teammates" have told me to stop as "anyone who is an Instinct player is welcome .."
I have a real issue with people who lie however as this person is clearly still using the Valor account and is multi accounting - something I also can't stand

The Multi-account bit I have no issue with.

Does seem to be just lying outright about the ongoing use of the Valor account.
My area has team based chat groups and one overall raid chat. I've stepped back from being particularly active on any of them just to keep away from the "politics" etc that tends to happen any time a group of adults start playing a game together.
Basically you have two choices. Keep calling him out which will not endear you to the rest of your team. Or ignore it and play your way regardless of their behaviour.

Why would anyone want to leave Valor? It's clearly the best team :-P

So, how was everyone's dual Community Days?

I was anti-social on both days as I can move faster and catch more when I am by myself
Had approx 350 storage spaces on Saturday to catch things and focused on only going after Eevees - aside from any easy to capture 2nd stage evolutions for the stardust.
Caught approx 320 Eevee on Saturday including 13 shinies - my best shiny result (previous best was 12 over the extended Dratini CD)

On Sunday I had approx 330 storage spaces, but had to stop about 2 hours in to delete Eevees .. I estimate I caught around 400 on Sunday, including 25 shinies.

I also had a 6pm shiny Eevee that turned into a regular Eevee that did not know Last Resort on Sunday, but .. I wasn't worried since having 38 is a tad excessive anyway

As per my normal, I haven't done any shiny evolving and probably won't, though I did manage to get two shinies over that magical 82% IV range.

Was a tad disappointed that they didn't do anything with the research rewards to guarantee any Eeveelutions .. but hey, thats Niantic .. and it is to be expected

It was a pretty good weekend, although Saturday's weather boost overwhelmed the Eevee spawns in Takapuna with a huge number of Rattata. Good for the Youngster medal, but not so great for Eevee. It seemed to have been fixed by Sunday, even though the first two hours were still weather boosted. I don't know how many Eevee I caught, but I got my standard 6 shinies on Saturday and then only 5 on Sunday, courtesy of going the whole first hour with none. My son caught 20 in total. He was stoked. I took time whenever there were no Eevee spawns to catch some of my queued research encounters. I made it up to Summer Hat Pikachu so I think I'm below 100 now, but I might do a few more with a starpiece on this weekend to be safe. I have set aside my three best shinies for Leafeon, Glaceon and Sylveon (although I may well catch more between now and Gen 6!) and walked two mediocre ones for Espeon and Umbreon (purely as trophies with Last Resort). That left me with six and I did random evolves on them all, finally getting the full set on the last, and then realising I hadn't left myself a shiny to keep as Eevee. Thankfully my sister traded me her worst shiny Eevee for my surplus Jolteon. I'm now within about 150k of 2 million stardust. Not sure what I'll spend it on yet, but I am eyeing some of the Gen 4 legendaries eagerly :)
