evening all,

I think i know the answer is a 300 watt power supply won't support any half decent video cards but i thought i would ask anyway.

Does anyone use a 300watt power supply and play newer games on a pc?

I know naff all about pc gaming requirements these days except the game requires a AMD Radeon R5 230CPU 1GB or similar.

Do i need quote some gaming titles? any advise on the suitability of this type of power supply would be much appreciated.

thanks
j

I built a PC for a cousin earlier this year, it has a Pentium G3258 and a GTX 750 ti. It's all run off of a Silverstone SFX 300W PSU and runs fine, the 750 ti is quite a nice little card too since it doesn't require any extra PCIe power plugs.

The R5 230 GPU is low-end/entry-level. The GTX 750 ti mentioned is much more powerful and makes for a much better gaming system. See http://www.game-debate.com/gpu/index.php?gid=1887&gid2=883&compare=radeon-r5-230-vs-geforce-gtx-750-ti
Quoting the game(s) helps otherwise there are questions like is that GPU the minimum system requirement or the recommended for your game. What screen resolution will you be wanting?
