Hi Geekzoners,

This is my first post! I am more of a casual Pokemon fan-girl (REAL Pokemon, not go), rather than a online gamer myself.

I am a Sports and Recreation consultant by day (basically Leslie Knope) and a masters student at Lincoln University by night. As part of my masters I am going research into eSports and how NZ can better provide facilities and training for developing future professional kiwi eSports players and hosting events in NZ.

If you are a eSports player, a gamer training to be a eSports player or a gamer who would like to be a eSports player in the future, could you please fill out this anonymous survey.

There are a lot of definitions, but for the purposes of this survey an eSports player is someone who enters into organized tournaments (verses just regular online ranking).

Survey Link: http://lincoln.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_dbCowZW2RL4FRn7

If you have any friends and/or fellow guild/clan, who are eSports players or aspiring eSports players, could you please share this link with them. Feel free to share this link on social media or discord.

Thank you so much.

(mods: hope it is ok to post this here)

Done, and shared to a bunch of relevant people

I'm a geek, a gamer, a dad, a Quic user, and an IT Professional. I have a full rack home lab, size 15 feet, an epic beard and Asperger's. I'm a bit of a Cypherpunk, who believes information wants to be free and the Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it. If you use my Quic signup you can also use the code R570394EKGIZ8 for free setup. Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

I am not an esports player, but I do know the players that are seriously good enough leave pretty quickly given the opportunity. Quite frankly, NZ doesn’t do much for small/not-as popular sports. Much less so for something still equated to video games by the older generations.

Hey mate - have you been to any FB groups about this in NZ?

I know League of Legends NZ (FB group - I'm admin) has had probably majority of the high profile LoL professional players from NZ interact or start out there at one stage or another. Feel free to get in touch if need any help, we constantly have esports related surveys and stuff pop-up. :)
