I have a Clie TH55 and am trying to establish a bluetooth connection via my desktop. I can get as far as establishing the connection. I get past the signing on etc.. Using Netfront when I enter a web address i then wait approx 1 minute before getting the message "wrong URL or invalid network settings"

Network Settings
Connection Type:PPP
Idle timeout:Never
Primary DNS:195.92.168.39
IP Address:Automatic

No Script

If I tick Query DNS then I can't get past sigon, I get the Timeout PPP error. This also is the case if I use a script.

Advice please?

Are you able to PING a host, like www.wired.com?

If not, try entering the DNS address on the Bluetooth adapter on your desktop too.

Strange. I can think of other things that may impact on this:

  • Any personal firewall software on your desktop?
  • What kind of Bluetooth you have on your computer? If it's a USB dongle, is it connected directly to the USB port to a USB HUB? Try moving to a direct USB port.
  • Di you have the power management on for the USB ports? Turn it off. Press the Windows Key plus the Break key, change to Hardware tab, and click the Device Management button. Open each USB device and check the Power Management tab.
  • The DNS you have to enter on your Bluetooth configuration on the adapter on your desktop is the one from your ISP, not the local gateway address.

Yes, I have Zone Alarm set to medium

I have a Belkin USB Dongle. I have moved it directly to a USB port. No change.

Have carried out the power manager checks on USB's.

My DNS is from my ISP.

Still no difference. My connection is established but I get no further except for the wrong URL......etc message.

You might want to disable Zone Alarm and see if it works. Also, you haven't confirmed if you can PING. Have you tried other programs that access the internet, like e-mail clients or RSS reader? Anything other than the browser?

Disabled Zone Alarm - No effect

    If I PING I get PING:Unknown Command

If I use my email client I am tod to check my port.

Sorry, I was entering the ping command incorrectly. Have tried again ping wired.com but get the message "Can't find host: wired.com"
