Hi,

I got a nice Leadtek bluetooth wireless GPS which is working great with my iPAQ h5450. I connect to the leadtek via bluetooth and it offers service (bluetooth serial port) which provides serial GPS coordinates. Everything works fine. But...

How do I set this up with my laptop? It has xtndconnect blue manager and it can see the Leadtek GPS but how do I configure it so that it provides information to my COM-port in laptop so that my Genimap software can read the info?

I understood that I need to somehow configure for example my com port x (bluetooth serial) to connect into this device so that they make a "bridge" and then connect my genimap software to this port. But the blue manager software doesn't show me the service or doesn't let me "bind" to it..

Can someone help?

I'm not familiar with this software, I've only used it a few times. I remember that you'll see a list of icons corresponding to your Bluetooth devices, pretty much like My Bluetooth Places for Widcomm software:

What happens if you double-click the icon corresponding to the GPS? Does it open and show the services offered by your GPS? If yes, can you double-click the service icon? It should connect when doing this.

Yes, it displays the services and shows a Serial Port service as should. But the problem is that I can't connect to this witn blue manager :/

Only options available via right click are basically (excluding large icons, details etc...) Find Device or Refresh. None of which are related to this specific service :(

Doubleclicking doesn't do anything.

I opened the com port settings from blue manager and noticed that I can set a default defice to a specific com port. I entered the hex-name of my Leadtek GPS to COM8 but it didn't do any good :(

I also tried installing belkin blue manager but it didn't work with my bt dongle :(

This is getting frustrated. I also noticed that if I try to use com port 9 for example, which is the fax port, then when I hit GPS from Genimap, it actually pops up a window asking for into which device I want to connect! So would it be possible to change the com port from 8 to 9 and try it from there?

I tried to add a new com port but that didn't help either
