I have a PC and a Laptop both with Bluetooth dongles.
When I click on the explore "Entire Bluetooth Neighborhood" on either one, none will detects each other. But if I use the "Bluetooth File Transfer Wizard" to send files between the two computer it will work.

Why can they not see each other, but they can send files each other?, is there something else I have to do?, If they can not find each other then how can I pair them?

Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks

When on your Bluetooth Places click F5 to refresh and search for new devices. Make sure the devices are set to "Discoverable".

Muchas gracias por la respuesta. Nevertheless, I do have both computers as discoverable, so they should be seeing each other. For some reason the do not. One thing I forgot to mention is that they are already "passkey enabled", is this affecting something?.

I am having the same problem.

Currently have a Belkin Bluetooth dongle (F8T001) connected to my laptop and another bluetooth dongle (MSI BToes) connected to my desktop PC. I have no problems sending files from my laptop to the desktop but cannot send files from the desktop to the laptop.

When doing so, the desktop errors and says that there is no file transfer service on the laptop. But I've checked the "service menu" on the laptop and it is enabled to start automatically with no authentication or encryption needed.

Can't figure out what the problem is :(

Got WinXP xp2 on both machines.

The problem doesn't seem to be the same. It actually looks very different.

I suggest you check that the exchange folder defined on your service does exist, and if it exists make sure that all users on your PC have permissions to write/read on this folder.

When you create a new user on Windows XP it will ask if you want to make your folder private. If you click Yes this will make the folder inaccessible to some services running as system or othe users.

Ooops my bad. I meant to say in additon to the same problem as the previous member I have this problem :D

As for the folder issue, the laoptop is set as to share whatever file/folder that is on the desktop and same goes for the PC. So if I can send files from the laptop to the PC, which is saved on the desktop, why can't it do it the other way around?
