Sorry for the real noob question, but after reading some of the posted forums looking for solutions I am now more confused.
I have a TP Link modem in the kitchen with a 25m Cat 5 cable running to my son's bedroom to operate the usual suspects of modern in home entertainment.  At the moment we plug the single cable in and out of each individual machine when needed. I feel this could cause un necessary wear and tear on the connectors.
My question is  "What is the best option to connect everything at once"

I believe it is best to connect everything through more cable, and I can easily do that as the devices sit on a shelf

I have included a basic diagram in the hope to help. What do I put in the red circle?

Nope no picture, it's only 30kb but doesn't seem to load,

Hope the words are enough

Something like this is all you want. Jump on price spy and find the cheapest 5 (or maybe 8) port switch you can.
