Hi,

I am starting to learn about VLANs and I already have some things I would like to use it for. I would like to connect 2 networks to the pi, and I was wondering how I could do this with VLANs. My question is if I made this cable, would it work?

So what happens is I connect 2 Ethernet cables together, and then I put another Ethernet connector on the end.

THanks

Yes I realize that. But can I splice 3 cables together and then tag the 2 different switches?

Please just completely drop the splicing cables together idea. It has no place in a conversation about VLANs. If you want to learn about VLANs, get a managed switch, connect the Pi to one port as a trunk, create virtual interfaces on the Pi with VLAN tagging, and then set some of the other ports on  the switch as access ports on the relevant VLANs and connect devices. No offence, but given your questions, I suspect a few forum posts will not be able to provide the level of guidance you're likely to need, and a good Cisco Networking guide could be a great investment.
