Does anyone know if sending files between computers over the same Wi-Fi connection uses your telco's bandwidth?

I recently set up a homegroup network on windows 8.1 to connect the laptop and PC together and found i can stream music/movies from my PC through to my laptop. But i dont want to do this if it is going to chew up my little data plan.

Anyone with previous knowledge, personal experience ?

Thanks

Nope, if it doesn't leave your network then it doesn't use your ISP data.

If you want to test this to see if I'm telling the truth, unplug your ADSL / VDSL line from your modem but leave the modem on. If you can still transfer data then it's not leaving your network and you are not using your ISP data.
