Hi everyone, so I finally got around to preparing for an install of a dsl mastersplitter. I've done a fare bit of research and brought what I think are the correct tools and equipment required for the install. I've gotten lucky and there seems to be cat cable installed throughout the house though I cant tell if the cable is cat 5/5e or 6. But my main reson for this post is I opened up the jackpoint which I believe is the primary point of entry for the connection and have found that there are 3 cables. I've purchased a rj45 jackpoint (which I think is right) and need to connect the cables to that but which of the three do I connect, any advice and help would be appreciated.
The easiest way to find the feeder at that point would be to just pull a blue leg off the jack one at a time until the phone goes dead. Once it is dead you know what the feeder is. After that go and whack the splitter in at the ETP. Send the DSL up on a spare pair (normally orange) and the whack that spare on a jack and all sorted.
