Hi all,

Recently thought I'd upgrade routers from my Fritzbox 7360 to the D-Link 880L. I expected to get faster wifi speeds with the latter due to it being a newer generation router and dual band. So far I've only managed 7 mbps down on both ethernet and wifi. When I use the Fritzbox, I'm getting ~24-50 mbps down, and ~100 through ethernet.

Wondering if anyone has had similar issues and how to improve the speeds of the new router. Advertised speeds are much higher, and I would expect higher than the older 7360. I've tried changing the various settings on the 880L wireless settings, to no avail. Any assistance/advice would be much appreciated.

I'm on NowNZ's Fibre 100.

D-Link 880L - https://www.speedtest.net/result/6115229304 (slow ~7 mbps D, through ethernet and wifi)

Fritz box 7360 - https://www.speedtest.net/result/6115243877 (faster ~50 mbps D, over wifi)

Cheers

Righto so I've got it working to what I expected (~96 mbps down):

It would seem a factory reset using the button on the back of the router did the trick. Then setting up everything from scratch again. Excellent.
