I bought one of the above and am trying to get it set up using the eWeLink android app.

After holding down the button to put it into pairing mode, I start the app and try to pair using the Quick Pairing option.

The app asks for SSID and password.

It finds the device and my phone wifi connects to ITEAD-XXXX

After about 3 minutes I get Pairing failed.

Any suggestions?

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

HI have you had any luck with this yet. I have a stack of these i have bought for a tinyhouse build. I have tried everything and cannot get success

Tried tying router to 2.4ghz only (no improvement)

tried connecting directly connect to sonoff (no improvement)

Tried ipad and Iphone (no improvement)

has anyone got these to connect

I can get the 433Mhz remotes to connect fine but not the wifi

I found you have to do the hold the button down for seven seconds twice once until you get the blink, blink blink the agian to get a faster blink and they then pair. Love them they work well when paired.

Thanks Shoul;d of mentioned that you do indeed need to push button twice to get rapid flash. It sees my access point, it can see to unit (on wireless list in Iphone) and can pair with either but software does not recgonise the Sonoff unit. I am using ewelink ver 3.3.4 IOS 11.2.6

Any ideas as ive spent probably 10 hours reading forums and trying. Love the concept but looks like their support is pooos

My next suggestion would be to make sure your phone is connected to the 2.4mhz (a/b/n) wifi not 5mhz (Ac) wifi when pairing -that caught me out first time around.

HI is there way to set iphones to only connect at 2.4 i have disabled all the other bands in the router so it only operates at 2.4. is this enough. As if so it still didnt work.

You shouldn't have to change your router just make sure your phone is connecting to the 2.4 network rather than the 5 network in your phones wifi settings.

The fact that you see the ITEAD-xxxx message means that the device is visible to pair, so its failing in the next steps of the process. Could it be a misspelling of your wifi name or password during the pairing setup?

I am using an andriod phone, so cant comment on wether their are any issues with the iOS app. good luck.

After trying for hours and using AP mode, pairing from fresh power up, trying to pair to WiFi without special characters in, pairing to a mobile phone hot spot, etc. etc. The ONLY thing that worked STRAIGHT away, was to put the phone into airplane mode, then only activating the wifi to connect with home router, then running the app to pair, and it works!!

I suspect that having bluetooth enabled may make it think there's an alternative connection method.

Try turning off mobile data - I think that solved it when I faced the same issue. I think that having internet access via mobile data confuses the process when your phone connects to the temporary AP of the Sonoff

The Xiaomi MiPlugs need Bluetooth for pairing, but IME Sonoff gear doesn't
