Also somehow i scratched the moving bezel around the outside. Not too happy with how soft it must be for that to happen.

To be fair I couldn't work out when it happened, but I wear it playing squash and I think last night I may have touched it against the wall, so concrete against metal.... Still quite annoying as it's very obvious and ruins the otherwise very nice look.

I think my OCD will require it gets fixed.

I superficially scraped mine not long after purchasing it (wasn't used to wearing a watch), and am also a little OCD with that stuff, but it seems to have disappeared.. not suggesting it's "self healing", but it may be that the appearance becomes less dramatic with time

LazyDr: Hmm, that's weird. I get notifications from Google about 3-4 times a daywith the current weather incl temp, but definitely not as frequent as it sounds like you are.

Can you tell which app it is that's sending through the notification? You can choose which apps can and cannot create notifications in the gear app on the phone

No, well not unless someone can help me by telling how I can tell. I am wondering if maybe 2 apps are doing it?

Perhaps it is 2 apps that are doing it. Mine just tells me the temp about 2 mins when I get out of bed in the morning (In Christchurch)

I just got a Gear S3 Frontier version - I am lead to believe this has 3g and can operate without a phone - how does that work? Do I need a SIM card for my watch?

Can anyone who has bought a third party charger from Aliexpress or Ebay post a link to a reliable one?

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Got notified on watch about Samsung pay. However my credit card not recognised. Is that because my watch is from Hong Kong?

So the strap on my S3 came apart during squash and the pin appears slightly bent. It reattached ok, but I am not certain it's 100% secure. Was going to try and get another pin, but Samsung want me to send it in for assessment!

Do straps come with new pins? Is there a better strap than the default for sport?

Hi all

So Noels etc now have the gear sports out.  I picked mine up yesterday.  Main difference between the 2 is that the sports can be used for swimming and the strap is 20mm etc.

I'm happy with it so far.  Battery life so far seems great, currently at 77% and was taking off the charge at 2.30pm yesterday (15 hours so far).  That includes the setup and playing with it :).

Watch is reporting another 2 days of battery on current charge

Price for it is $499 so a little bit cheaper than the gear s3.

Official Samsung straps come with the quick release pins, there are other third party straps designed for the S3 that also have the same pins, and most of the others I've seen will come with standard pins.

I bought 3 from AliExpress, only use one of them but still not bad for less than $30 considering the cost of the official ones. The one I use is silicon but much more flexible than the original. Does make it feel flimsy in comparison, but much more comfortable and I find it great for running or biking with. Will find the link. It came with standard pins and tools for installing them

I have bought 5 different colours of these ones (a different colour each week cool ) No issues with them at all, Made from silicon and so comfortable, has the same pin design as the original straps. At $5 each you can't go wrong.
