maxeon: I just realized I have a stuck / dead pixel on the top left hand of the watch.
I was hoping it to be gone by running the stuck pixel app but did not make a difference.
I will probably return it and get a replacement / repaired in the weekend.
Looks more like damage or a leak than a stuck pixel, which are usually limited to the area of a pixel, or several pixels.

It was out of the box that way, I hardly used the watch, and started to notice that today. It has grown in the last 24 hours.
Oh I'm not saying you did it, just that it looks like its from damage or a leak! Definitely take it back

Blanch: Its warm in Western Springs 35? Hi, Low and current are all the same using Watchmaker.
reven: to be fair, the battery once a day charge is no surprise. I doubt we will see a lot of improvement on this for years to come. we might get another day or 2 at the very best, but it will be a long while before we can get a week out of these things. so as long as you dont have a problem putting it on charge when you go to sleep at night, its a non issue. you can buy a secondary charge from ebay for about $20 (i might get one for work just in case).
im finding it difficult to find a great watch face, wanted one that shows a step counter (using google fit, not their own). the ones I've tried have all been rubbish. and I can't find a good running app that doesn't require you to take your phone with you.
what calculator are you using? the one I tried would always crash when it was opened.

I think in the coming couple of years with the new iwatch, technology is going to improve significantly. I think an eink colour type of display is really needed, for lower power consumption. I think the battery life equivalent to that of a kindle is needed, eg once a month charge. WIth normal watches, you would expect them to last many years, upto a decade if not longer for a premium one. But these types of watches must only have a life of a few years, unless they have an easy user replaceable batteries, and the tech in them gets dated. People won't want to be changing watches as quickly as they change phones. Not unless they have replaceable modules inside them that can be swapped out.

I'm not sold on that, battery power hasnt improved all that great in the last few years, smartphones are lasting about aslong now as they did when the first ones came out, no huge improvements. eink colour will certainly improve battery life, but how far away is colour eink? (not something I've kept up on).
I do think its reasonable with a smart watch to replace it every 2 years or so, they will get dirt cheap ~$100 for a fairly decent one.
