This is my first post so hopefully I have searched hard enough to see if this has been covered before.

I feel that this is a simple problem that should have a simple solution but I have not been able to find one out of the box.

My SKY Box is in a central media hub that I can control via the usual remote, but I have to have the door open for the IR signal to get to the box. I would like to leave the door closed and also control Sky from other rooms in the house. I have tried the IR kits that send the signals through the HDMI cable but this is not very reliable.

The idea I have is to have a WIFI to IR Bridge that I am to access via an app on my iPad or iPhone and send the signal through the WiFi network.

Has anyone got a solution for me to be able to do this? Thank you in advance.

Check out the Harmony Hub. I think that should do what you are after, although I have never used one myself.
