I have had one for the past 2 years or so (the regular model, not the pro). Works fairly well most of the time. My general thoughts:
The unit worked without flaws for the first 6 months or so and I recommended it to everyone at the time. Slightly less enthusiastic about it since I've started having the issues above but it may just be my device.
Friend had one.
Issues with wifi were the main one. Phone works ok on their veranda with 2/5 bars and will speed test at about 17/5 on 2.4GHz, ring bell constantly drops off and gave stuttery pixely video.
Second problem was that the app would often just do nothing when someone pressed the bell. Not sure if that was wifi or what but he gave up on it and went back to a normal wireless bell and added a wired POE camera on the veranda roof.

I have had one for the past 2 years or so (the regular model, not the pro). Works fairly well most of the time. My general thoughts:
- I don't get the 1yr battery life, usually lasts around 4-5 months before needing a recharge. I do have some motion detection areas defined so likely impacting this as well.
- Video Quality isn't too bad and usable for what it's trying to do.
- I have had some software issues with it in the past but these seem to be getting resolved via SW updates (it does these automatically). Which can also be a problem as new issues are sometimes introduced with SW updates automatically. The issues I've had
- Refusing to connect to my WiFi AP reliably (constant drop outs) This happened randomly after a SW update and wasn't resolved for a few weeks. Suddenly started working after another SW update so likely a bug
- I have the Ring Chime as well and sometimes it takes 10-15 seconds for the chime to react to the doorbell press. Hasn't happened often but very annoying when it does happen.
- The two way audio chat is very useful, have used it to talk to courier drivers in the past while I was away at work. Worked like a charm.

Installed mine nearly two years ago. Ordered via their website.
I have one, the unit they sent me for review. Pretty happy with it - it's being replaced with the new version and also having the Rig Floodlight installed this week.
No problem connecting to AP, but obviously have this unit close to the home office where the AP is located.

Most likely the smartphone being "smart". I've seen this with Huawei: by default the OS closes every app when the screen is turned off. Affected Ring, Tile, Norton, even Hangouts and Messenger (as in no messages coming in).
Had to turn all optimisations off and also set the "Ignore optimisations" option app by app.

Love mine. Hooked to Hue as well, so it flashes lights when the bell is pressed. No need for a chime.
Also have it turn on the outside light when motion is detected so it's a sensor light too. :D
I live on a very quiet street and the only things that set off motion detection are large 4WDs or trucks. It ignores cars.
My dentist has it at home, he loves it. His wife uses it to spy on when the kids get home from school/etc.
He actually used it to prove to a courier company their sodding delivery driver was bullsh177ing about attempting delivery lol.
Sony
I love mine, in fact I just ordered one of the stick up cams, the security lights and a couple of the solar chargers on Friday.

Techmoan did a review on one on you tube. Worth watching, as he also had the lag problem where there was a big delay. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VvTzmp08OE Also he ended up replacing it with a cheap wireless bell instead. I have just got a honeywell wireless doorbell and it does exactly what I want. But can see the ring one can also have security advantages.
I am using the Ring Doorbell PRO model for the past 8 months now. I bought mine from Ebay but they started selling PRO and Elite as well now in NZ.
I strongly recommend (if you can) to buy the PRO or Elite as they respond better than the standard version. I am happy with the product and highly recommend it.
After reading this forum I am going to investigate a bit more about Hue. Switching lights on when motion detected is interesting :)
