As per the title, I'm trying to find a way to automatically sync photos between our iPad, Android phones and our PCs (primarily a Windows 8 laptop) (therefore I'm not sure sure of the right forum for this post, as it applies across many!)

It's easy to get it to the point where all photos are located on the PCs in a single location (both cloud and on the PC) by using Dropbox, with the phones and iPad automatically uploading to Dropbox, and me manually placing photos from our digital cameras in the same Dropbox "camera uploads" folder on the PC.

My problem is then ensuring all these photos (ie, the contents of the "camera uploads" folder) are synced on the iPad (don't care about forcing downloads onto the phones as they're not great viewing devices). Using iTunes to sync folders is proving problematic, as it will not let me select my Windows 8 photo "library", but requires me to select a folder; this means I can select folders within my main photo collection OR the Dropbox camera uploads folder, but not both.

Yet I need to have both synced with the iPad - is there a feasible way to achieve this?

I guess one option is to stick ALL the photos I want synced into the Dropbox folder and sync this folder with the iPad, but ideally I want to avoid this (as it will result in many more GBs of data in Dropbox).

Can anyone suggest any other options? A key aspect is that it needs to happen automatically, or with very little effort. I'm ok about doing a wireless sync between the iPad and PC using iTunes, but other methods I've tried like using the PhotoSync app are messy and time-consuming. I also considered whether using a folder sync app on the PC to copy photos from the camera uploads folder to the main photos folder would work, but that would either result in a double-up of photos on the PC or (if moved) them being taken out of Dropbox altogether.

Perhaps there's a way to sync using iTunes both the Dropbox camera uploads folder and other folders containing photos at the same time?
