Hey Folks,

"Pwnd", well kinda. Although WinPwn is not available for 2.0 yet, if you just can't wait for it to be released and need to be on 2.0 here is a guide for you.

NOTE:
1. This is for 1st Gen iPhones ONLY (Not 3G and Not iPod Touch)
2. If you brick your iPhone don't blame me, I have not tested this, I just found the link
3. You must start off at 1.1.4

5. Remember you won't have Installer (yet). Cydia will be installed though.

I love at your own risk... anyone had a crack? I thought ziphone would be out by now... they have created such high expectations now.

Well I tried Winpwn 2.0.0.1, and 2.0.0.2 and 2.0.0.3 and none of them would successfully build me a custom .ipsw file. I have tried numerous times and no joy yet.. it is working out there for some. I may try another of my PC's when I get a chance as it appears that there may be minor confilcts with Antivirus, memory, services running or the status of your Win XP installation.

I guess there is no hurry as intaller 4.0 is not out yet so I will be stuck with the limited range of 2.0 Cydia apps and of course the appstore apps. I will post my successes (or otherwise) at a later date.

OK - so with a bit of blog hunting and following the directions to the letter (yes you have to have your iphone plugged in from step one and yes iTunes needs to be running before you start) I finally got my 1.1.4 pwned to 2.0

The clincher was closing down all non essential apps and services including antivirus, skype and firefox. Then Winpwn 2.0.0.3 worked as advertised..

Now just waiting for installer 4.0
