I feel that the one's offered by Apple are a rip off at circa $70. Anyone found anything cheaper?

I read somewhere that the apple dock doesn't even come with a cable...

There are 2 docks, the standard audio out one is $45, and the video dock with ir sensor and remote is $75

I heard those are rubbish.

Piece of advice - don't get advice from that person again!!

The whole point about most Apple (and 3rd party docks) is that they are MEANT to be universal! You insert the dock adaptor that came with your device (or buy the appropriate dock adapter for your device) into the docking station and you're good to go. Using the relevant dock adaptor means you get a perfect fit for your specific device.

But then, for someone who is on their 4th iPhone, you know this already

haha, well i was just going off hear-say, so I personally don't know.

But who knows. while i can't comment from experience. From what I see, it doesnt look as though it would be as stable as the one specifically designed for it? as though the insert would fall out?

But meh.

And hey, the first 3 werent my fault!
:P

and im on my 5th for that matter! I havent listed the other one :P

3 were from cracking (Apples fault entirely!)

the 4th one was "Avoidable" :P

haha, the only fault i'll take here is that I left it on the table. Otherwise, NOT my fault :P
