Ive obtained an iPhone 3GS from work to "test" as the user who had it complains that the Telecom XT signal drops out all the time on them (happened 5x in 30mins), happens everywhere for them. (Chch, Auckland, Hamilton, dosent matter)

Ive put in my 2D sim and havent had any problems with it yet.

Anyone else had similar issues with a 3GS ? (latest firmware etc)

We dont want to send it back to Apple if its an XT thing and not the phone itself :)

mine used to be like that but i got my account put onto another new generation sim card and it seemed to stop, i still do get the occassional drop out on my iphone, but rarely maaybe 2 times a week. It definately seems to be a problem with xt, but i think they have fixed most of the drop outs.

I had the problem over Christmas, changed the sim and all was well.
Never had any other signal drops except that...
