Depends if you have a USA or NZ account whether Siri works

I have all my accounts set up (NZ, AU, USA & UK), when set to NZ Siri doesn't work, but works with all the other ones.

I'm fairly certain it's only functional if you are logged into an iTunes account from one of the 8 countries that got Siri at launch. I still think we'll get it later (although I'm already happily using it on my US account).

dclegg: Looks like Apple may have quietly turned on Siri support for New Zealand.

This doesn't appear to work for me.

The tweet I linked earlier in the thread was from a user who was logged in using their NZ account, and region also set to NZ. It may have been a dev version of the ATV though, which I think runs slightly different software at this stage.

jnimmo: They do already have iOS apps, so it should be pretty easy to make those work on Apple TV

Yes but those apps specifically restrict the ability to AirPlay content to an Apple TV. That being the case, they clearly don't want you to or don't have the legal rights to allow you to play content on that device, so why would they build a native app that achieves the same thing.

TVNZ Onbemand is now on PS3/4, I got a email from Playstation. As PS4 connects to TV, as does Apple TV, I think that will come. Add Lightbox, Netflix, Neon, a one stop STB.

Watching the cricket on Willow TV. The app only lets me log in if I have the ATV region set to US, although I still have NZ time zone and location services turned on. The quality is very variable and quite disappointing, but that might be my connection as they definitely stream in HD. The stream is obviously adjusting to fluctuations in my internet speed. I'm on VDSL and normally get 25-30 down, and the ATV is cable connected to the router. I'll probably cancel the subscription after the Aussie tour and try it again when UFB arrives in my street.

I grabbed one yesterday, might set it up tonight. I gather the App Store isn't great on listing apps, categories etc?  Reading here, can I just change the country on it, to access more apps? Then switch it back to NZ?

That is true, I have apps from UK, Aussie and US all sitting next to each other. SKY Now UK is the best pic quality I have seen through any device.

Thats surprising but good news. They must be making the app store fully international, and just use the country setting for clarity, as some apps wont work due to geoblocking, but clearly Apple sees no issue with apps being there for all to access. New added value feature??

I'm using Unotelly and I have to log into each countries app store to get the app. That involves creating an apple login for each country.
