ALTRON: I ordered from applestore the store deducted the money from my card but i lost my card shortly after that.

So im getting a new card/number etc. Do I need to change my card number details in my account so the money can go back on until the phone ships? Or not worry about and see what happens?

Just call the NZ Apple strore with your new card details. Should not be an issue. Then you can ask if your phone will be sent early!

Just got my 32GB from Vodafone Manukau, in the mall by BK. They have 10 of each (16 and 32). Don't bother ringing they are flat out just GET THERE!

Just log in to the Apple site. Easiest way is by clicking on the delivery date in the confirmation order they send after you order has been received and then click cancel order.

Easy

I don't really have time to rush out there though I think. Maybe tomorrow...

I was kind of liking the idea of not giving my money to Vodafone though..

Hi SweatST

Just buy one from Apple, its yours from day 1 and you can decide which carrier you want to use in NZ. Then when you go overseas its unlocked and you can chose a new carrier in whichever country you end up in. Its only a three (or so) week wait to get it.

[Edit] Oh and remember that in a lot of instances you don't have to sign up for a fixed term contract if you want to operate post paid, for instance Telecom offer open term contracts with a monthly bill on XT. If you are buying your phone direct from Apple there is likely to be few incentives for you to sign up to a set term contract.

I ordered mine as soon as ordering was available on the Apple site and it has a delivery date of 26/08/2010 so it is 3 weeks until it ships from Apple then approx 6 days until it delivers to your door

Likewise, I ordered mine on the day after the launch, and my delivery date is estimated to be 27/08.

If you absolutely must have it now and am prepared to pay a premium, there's a 32G being sold on Trademe for $1599 I think. There are also a few 16 GBs. All are carrying a premium of around $300. Personally, I'd just wait.

Just picked up a 32gb from vodafone lynmall. Was on waiting list last week and got the call today to pick one up.
Top notch service! I asked why they had waiting list while other shops didn't
allow. Said they didn't want to disappoint ppl that had been waiting a long time. I hope other outlets watch and learn. This is how customers want to be treated and become loyal customers.
