kiwind: Anyone had a change in the originally advised dispatch date for their iPhone 4 ordered through the Apple Store website?
Am I hoping in vain for an earlier date?

Still showing original date of the 20th. Just waiting for: Not yet shipped to tick over to: Shipped

I'm steeling myself for slippage come the 20th... I still reserve the right to throw a tanty if I'm right however.

I understand the reason behind the wait is a deal between Apple and Vodafone to allow Vodafone to sell retail for 3 weeks without competition. It will not be possible for earlier shipping although I am saddened at the time required for shipping.

That's an interesting claim. Care to provide any evidence?

Are Vodafone selling iphones in the USA too, since they also have a 3 week wait on stock?

I do believe its a deal Apple agrees with its telcos...ie it will give all their signed "dealers" 3 weeks before Apple themselves enter the market.

One of my orders has, and the other hasn't yet (although I imagine it will very soon).

Whats odd though is the order I made first by a few minutes is the one that hasn't changed yet.

Lets hope they get here by Monday!
