At this rate they will only release pricing just before release and keep the exact same plans (I sure hope that I am wrong)

I'm just worried that if I queue outside a MagnumMac and they don't have them, my chances of having to wait for ages outside vodafone is quite high... :S

I guess this could be an indication that we'll hear nothing until tomorrow

That tbh is unaceptable, seriously why is it that NZ always get screwed. Every other item is given a date yet this isnt wtf.

My idea of getting my sim card changed early didn't work as apparently unless you do it with the iPhone purchase even if you are on account you will be charged which sucks.

Wait, so if you can only get a microSIM for free if you are purchasing an iPhone 4, then does that mean that only Vodafone Retail stores will be selling the iPhone 4 and what on earth happens if you buy from MagnumMac??

This is really tarded.

This release is such a disturbing mess.  What on earth was Apple/Vodafone thinking!?!?!?

I guess I'll be lining up at the Vodafone Retail store in Glenfield at 8:30am, and harassing them alot this avo to see if they'll admit to having stock!

I agree, this is very frustrating. I wanted to buy an iPhone for my wife for her birthday (earlier this month), as my last attempt to upgrade her phone ended badly (thats what happens when you try to do it on the cheap :-)). Knowing the iPhone 4 was just around the corner, I gave her a "voucher" for this instead. So, I'm dead keen to pick up one tomorrow. She is a pre-pay customer, and has no plan to switch to a plan, so I need a brick and mortar retailer who will be selling the phone outright tomorrow.

The nearest MagnumMac to me is over 30 minutes away, but I have a shopping complex with Noel Leeming, DSE & JB Hi-Fi 10 minutes away. I have no idea which would be the best to target. Is it too much to ask that we know in advance whos doors we should be pounding on @ 9AM tomorrow (or even if the pounding can commence sooner)? I think not.

They don't explain in adequate detail.

Vodafone have previously stated that you can only get a microSim at a Vodafone Retail store, not at any resellers.

So if you buy from a Vodafone reseller, do you have to then go to a Vodafone Retail store with the receipt to get your free microSIM?  What if you've purchased from MagnumMac?

Or maybe you then get sent one?!

What's the point in getting your hands on an iPhone 4 if you don't have a sim to put in it?

As a Micro sim is a requirment, it is nearly 100% assured that other retailers will provide them but you may need to call 777 or something to get your number ported over etc or purchase the sim

Argh, just called up Wanaka First Mobile (shows up as vodafone shop on their website store locator) and they aren't getting any there. I am in Alexandra so looks like it could be a bit of a wait to get me one. Luckily we are going up to Christchurch for the weekend but not sure if they will have any phones left for Saturday!

Yea I found out at the last launch that the Wanaka outlet doesn't stock the iPhone as it can't be used there. then again this one actually could .
