freitasm: And who is camping in front of stores?

I might take a stroll down to the Welly store at midnight on Thursday to take a look if Apple haven't taken money out of my account by then, I'll try and keep it butch if I do though ;-)

codyc1515: I'm getting kinda excited. Here is my question to you all, the email says I and quote: "We are now processing this order and we will contact you by email once your order has been confirmed and dispatched. You can expect delivery between 3 to 5 days.". Does this mean that, like in other countries, they will send them out prior to launch day in order to get it to you on the day or is it just a generic part of the email?

Tuesday = 8th
Wednesday = 9th
Thursday = 10th
Friday = 11th (launch day, aka. 3 days from the email)
Saturday = 12th (don't think couriers ship in the weekend, except for an extra fee)
Sunday = 13th (aka. 5 days from the email)
Monday = 14th (this is when it should arrive?)

I should note that to this date I don't believe the order has been shipped.

Don't want to be Mr Doom and Gloom but it may just be a generic email as on the Telecom web page it says "Estimated shipping time for the iPhone will be 3 to 5 days from November 11." Hopefully they will dispatch before 11th though and you may see it later this week. I was hopeing Apple would be doing the same too but the order I placed last Friday still says processing and they haven't taken money out of my account yet.

In my experience, when a company quotes something like 3-5 days they mean working days (ie. 5 days is really 7 as they don't count weekends) so if I were you I wouldn't expect to see your 4S before Wednesday next week (3 working days from the 11th) and could even be Friday. Anything sooner than this would be a bonus. In reality though even if they ship on Friday I think you could have delivery on Monday :-)

Keep it positive. Don't set your hopes too high but I'm sure you'll see your new toy before a week on Friday

I was about to pull the trigger on a Samsung S2 but the iphone price for the $80/mo plan was just too good to pass up.
Add to that the ability to send and receive free text and picture messages between iphones (my wife and most of my family have one), facetime video conferencing which is usually better than skype and the chance to give Siri a try - it's a no brainer really. (I do reserve the right to change my mind if the new S3 on Android 4 comes out March and is awesome).

For the guy who asked earlier about speed difference Voda vs XT - I was on Voda for a bit with my iphone 4 but the coverage was terrible and the speed was shocking - especially out in Kapiti Coast where I live north of Wellington. Moved to XT and it's been fantastic ever since - the speed on XT is often comparable to my home broadband so much that its almost unnoticeable when you turn off wifi.

Or.... (I do reserve the right to change my mind if the new i5 on iOS6 comes out July and is awesome).

And so it will always go on!!!  Customer wins due to competition

Just to check that the Stores are opening at midnight? Will they be happy to sell to customers on prepay?

Remember though "Online pre-orders will take priority.".
@Telecom: Any ideas on (roughly) the number of units coming in? i.e. will there be enough?

Nice! See, Vodafone, that's how its done!

I wanted to get my wife an iPhone 4 on launch day (It was her birthday present promised back in July), but due to the comical launch last year, that was impossible. Instead we had to order online and wait a few weeks.
