you will have to install iworld (available through installer) once installed select New Zealand from the list of countries and you should be good to go.

just a word of thanks too to all involved in putting together the great tips - finally managed to get phone numbers/callerid working properly - and they look great too :)

slightly OT: have been using an everysim for the last two weeks (time ive had my phone (software unlock wasnt out at this time)) and its been working fine.  have read on other forums that people started having issues sending sms messages when using *.sim solutions - signal strength drops to zero and message sending fails.  I havent had this issue until tonight :( rather than fluffing around looking for a fix removed the everysim, installed ziphone 2.2 and within 45 seconds i had a jailbroken unlocked phone without everysim FANTASTIC!

Are you using Mac or Windows? Just asking as Danegar has had problems with the Windows version and wondered if you have had these problems too. If you are on a Mac it wouldn't have affected you.

am using windows vista. downloaded the lastest ziphone 2.2 (i did see on the official website) he said he had made a mistake with the windows .exe files.  he has now fixed this.  so no problems for me on vista.

so yeah, downladed it, launched itunes, connected the phone. ran ziphone ticked the 3 boxes, unlock, activate, jailbreak.  some funky text appereared on the iphone and 45secs later, rebooted and that was that ;)

have just noticed ziphone 2.3 is now out (2.2 not available) here is the link http://www.ziphone.org/

Go to "Sources" in Installer.app.

Then tap the "Edit" button. Click on the "-" icon over "Ste Packaging" source line in order to delete it.

Tap the "Add" button and type the right new URL for STE Packaging source:

http://repo.smxy.org/iphone-apps/

this will fix it :)

Actually - you only need to go to Sources and install the Community Sources update.

Can I ask why you are using iWorld? iWorld does not fix caller ID and it generates close to 1000 symlinks - it's a very generic approach. What firmware are you running?

[EDIT]
In hindsight I realise that was a stupid question. It must be 1.1.2 if you're having the MobilePhone/MobileSMS crashing.

If you're able to use an SFTP client like WinSCP (Windows) or Cyberduck (Mac) let me know and I'll give you a better solution for 1.1.2. If it's 1.1.3 then download my files from the first post in this thread... there's really no reason for you to be on 1.1.2 :P

@Daneger

Please give us an update on your wifi issue. Have you managed to resolve it yet?

I just found this post on hackint0sh. Looks like it could be related to the adhoc setup you have...

@ piksel:

hiya, i realise iworld doesnt fix callerid and is rather nasty, but after i jailbroke/unlocked my phone i was unable to make calls.  would drop back to home screen as soon as you pushed call.  after installing iworld calling worked fine - then had to do the manual fixes for callid etc.

if there is a better way to do it would be keen to hear ;)

Danegar - Can you ssh into the iPhone to access the file systems and if so would you be able the chmod an app if you installed it manually?

Sadly no, I do not have SSH - I could never get it set up with my Ad Hoc setup. In my current situation now I do not see how I could get it set up without wifi..

Thank you for viewing those threads for me!
..

Piksel, I am still in the same situation as yesterday. Restored to 1.1.3, ziphone 2.2 and same wifi issues.

I will attempt to use a friends wifi tomorrow to see if a true connection can be held, although I do not see how this will then allow my ad hoc to run - but worth a shot.

Is it likely that the problem is the firmware 1.1.3? Or the unlock with ziphone? Any educated advice?

Possibly this could work at 1.1.2? Does ziphone run on a restored 1.1.2?

If that werre the case would an upgrade to 1.1.3 keep my unlock do you think? Otherwise I may have to bite the bullet and stay at 1.1.2 for now =(

Anyone know the change log for ziphone 2.3 vs 2.2..

Running out of ideas now...Cry

Wow thanks for the info, just updated to 1.1.3 using Ziphone 2.2 on my mac, worked perfectly. Just googled for the UIphoneformat and appsupport fixes for NZ, and my local forum comes up!
I'll give these a shot.

Yep - that is a known issue in 1.1.2 for unsupported countries.

You're obviously on 1.1.2 ... you say you have done the manual fixes for Caller ID... what were the fixes? The fix required is in the AppSupport file which is what iWorld patches (very badly - read my findings here). If you have got Caller ID working then I would not bother changing anything. iWorld's files will all be erased when you upgrade to 1.1.3 :P

Daneger: Possibly this could work at 1.1.2? Does ziphone run on a restored 1.1.2?

Yes, ziPhone can run on any any firmware version. That was going to be my next suggestion. Restore to 1.1.2 and run with Activate/Jailbreak settings and see if you have wifi after that.

If that were the case would an upgrade to 1.1.3 keep my unlock do you think?

Yes, your unlock would remain intact but I would not "upgrade" to 1.1.3 as it does say ziPhone needs to run on a fresh OS and you would obviously still need to jailbreak/actiavte after upgrading :P

Anyone know the change log for ziphone 2.3 vs 2.2.

Looks like he's added some features - extra options like -D that puts your iPhone into DFU mode prior to the restore... here's all the extras:
Ziphone -D: Enter DFU Mode.
Ziphone -R: Enter Recovery Mode.
Ziphone -N: Exit Recovery Mode (normal boot).
Ziphone -C: Make coffee.
