dickytim: No new Ipad Air would be good news as it keeps my Ipad Air 2 top of the range for a little while longer.

That also means that the upgrade cycle will push to next year, hopefully the NZD will recover a bit by then.

it won't recover for a while, the only way the NZD is going over the next year is down

When the Surface pro came out a lot of people were big on lapabilaty and that it would be awkward on the lap. It received a lot of bad reviews because of this, I wonder how good will the new iPad Pro and Keyboard case be on the lap as from what I can see it looks rather small Or people just don't care just because it's a Apple Device and hypnotised by the apple Hype.

Apple buyers will complain but will still buy/use it.

I just wanted to say this a great topic, I'm learning so much. I never knew there were so many different ways of saying "you can't compare apples with oranges, but i'm still going to subtlely slip in a boost for the one i like better"

Surface is great on the lap. No heating. The design is superior. Edit: To conventional laptop design in that sense

Shot in the dark but is anyone willing to speculate when the iPad Pro will be released? November is not that far away

I am excited for the iPad Pro. I think it has great potential, and I can see myself honestly replacing a laptop etc for it - as I really only use Apple and am a light user to medium.

The problem I have is the total pricing. Apple has hiked all Kiwi prices due to the dollar exchange, and it is very noticeable. Considering the expensive accessories in the US, I can just imagine the price of the full, decent package in NZ. yikes.

We shall see. Price may be reduced in the new few months. Maybe worth importing.

Either way, it does have potential. If you are a keen Apple customer, it is a huge refresh and something worth looking at. I still think Surface 4 would beat it for pen use and productivity just because it has had quite a while to get things right.

Yep, November. Some have said beginning pre-orders, mid shipment. Other have said mid shipment, end delivery etc but it is likely November. For the USA at least... Considering that is one month before Xmas and in the month of their HUGE sales that could put a huge strain on stock which my delay a NZ launch, or at bare minimum mean very little stock.

I think you're on to something there, horses for courses.

But the Surface is a much better value proposition rather than paying laptop prices for a big tablet running iOS.
