caldazar: Looks like the wait at the Apple store is now: Ships: 4-5 weeks
I will see if I can get one at the stores, if I can't get one in the next 2-3 weeks, I'll probably hold off until I travel later in the year and get it duty free.
cafeg: whats the difference in price between the duty free ones and the retail ones ?
cafeg: So the Duty free one should be at least 15% cheaper than the retail one.
thats quite a saving.
the 32gig wifi 3G one i bought at launch for 1149.00 ends up being $976.65
A saving of $172.35

Lilly: As far as I know the Telecom microsims that worked in the first, still work in the iPad 2. Not sure about 2degrees though.
cafeg: I bought a telecom preaid iPad xt microsim from dse and put it in my ipad2.
It works fine and comes preloaded with 500 Meg, it cost $30 and they give you
300 Meg then 200 Meg free for the rest of the month.
If you dont use up the 300 Meg they charge you 10cents per Meg off the balance on the card for the month.
For example if you only use 100 Meg in the month $10 comes off the balance.
That's about all I use every month. I've been using the same with my iPhone for over a year now.
It's really fast and I haven't had a coverage problem anywhere in nz yet.
I stopped using vodafone about 18 months ago due to coverage problems and it going back to GPRS all the time when the signal got weak making data reaalllyy slowwwww.
2 degrees I haven't tried yet sorry so can't comment on them.
