Bit of a specific question this...

So, I listen to a fair few podcast, mostly using the standard iPhone podcast app. It does the trick nicely, I subscribe, they download, all is well with the world.

I also on occasion get a movie review podcast from another source, and they come as .mp3 files, split into chapters. When I copy the files over to my phone, they play with the Music App. Thing is, if I force close the app (double tap the home button and swipe away all background open apps), it never remembers where I was in the particular "track"/chapter. So, I either have to make a mental note of the running time when I stop listening, or try to guess where I was when I next start listening.

Any ideas how to combat this? Or should I try another way of listening to them, other than the Music app?

Any advice would be appreciated. :)

Best bet is to import them to iTunes and make the Media Type an Audio Book, then sync back to your iDevice and playback on the iBooks App.  This will keep track of where the playback is up to.  Also works if you're playing back within iTunes in the Audio Book section, once the file is appropriately tagged as such.  You could also tick the box to skip the track from being included in Music shuffling, as you don't want a 30 minute spoken word track coming up in the middle of your music playlist :)

But....is the movie review podcast available on a normal pod catcher?  What Podcast app do you use?  Is there an RSS type feed for the movie review podcast that you can add to a pod catcher like Overcast or PocketCasts?  that will be the easiest thing you can do...
