I've noticed people making a lot of requests and hopes for 2 Degrees. Some realistic, others maybe not so.

Let's make it easy for 2 Degrees and post all suggestions here for them to peruse - hopefully we can restrain ourselves and make practical and feasible requests that have a chance to be implemented.** I am now editing this first post to add in new suggestions as they get added as a way to collate the information (to maximise the chances of having the suggestions considered!)

As a start:

1. For prepay, could you please provide a "mini-statement" for our account. As pointed out by someone else also, with Telecom and Vodafone there is no way to hold them to account for charges that have been made. I'm not talking a full billing statement - just let me login to your website (or use self-help via the mobile) and check my LAST 5 or 10 BILLED CHARGES.

The benefits here are 2-way - we can hold 2 Degrees to account for charges and therefore have the confidence that we are not being ripped off (I can't say I feel the same way about my current provider), and 2 Degrees fields fewer calls at their call centre by giving us the ability to self-serve.

2. Here's a novel suggestion - is there any way you could give all new porting customers something crazy like 1000 free TXTs to use in the first month so that we can TXT all our friends and tell them we are now on 2 degrees (or what our shiny new 022 number is)? Or else have some facility on your website where we could enter the mobile numbers of our friends and get you to "mass TXT" them the same message?

Other suggestions that have been added to the thread:

2 Degrees Family on prepaid - will help to bring groups/family to 2 Degrees mobile, starting with mine!! <unresolved>

Make Rhys Darby the default voice for the IVR...and for voicemail <unresolved>

I understand 3G is a bit further away: but some VoIP friendly 3G data would be great. You could even look at your own VoIP integrated mobile solution too - i.e. VoIP client on the mobile with a local number <unresolved>

Free to check voice mail would be a nice thing. On a regular plan if you stick to your txt, voice and data plans you can still go over the monthly plan price because of checking voicemail <unresolved>

Visual Voicemail would be handy <unresolved>

Good txt rates because I for one find txting convenient and like to have important messages in text form so I can refer back and archive. Web txt would be pretty cool too, for the same price as from a mobile <partly resolved>

How about banking your texts data and voice calls so if you dont use them all in one month. They roll over to the next month. <not required/applicable>

Shared data between devices like telecom have done for calling only with their plans. There are no cheap vehicle trackers that have UMTS so I will be on 2? for at least two connections at launch, shared data would be better then the current state of prepay sims that need to be topped up since the new one I am getting will do gprs updates direct to the web which needs data. <unresolved>

Would it be possible to have a 'premium text bar' put on your phone, similar to the way that you can place a toll bar on a landline (my theory being that you could block all texts that are going to cost you more than 20cents) <tbc>

"Blocks" for voice minutes, TXTs, and data - eg. $x for x minutes, $x for x TXTs, and $x for xMb <unresolved>

"All you can TXT" for $x per day (normal TXT charges up until the daily cap and then unlimited) <unresolved>

Ability to set up an automatic payment system whereby your account gets automatically topped up when a prepay balance reaches a set value (eg. $2). <unresolved>

Free to send/receive Twitter updates. That would be cool <unresolved>

Well 2 Degrees, your launch excited me but above shows some "room for improvement" Wink

Loving this suggestion. Great idea. It'd be especially useful for those that have large numbers of contacts and the need to let them all know your new number.

A friend claims that this would be "spam", but I'm not sure. It would be tied back to your own number of course, and there would be a reasonable cap.

If it wasn't legal then give us xxx free txts to let our friends know about it at least.

I think this kind of idea would be very much in keeping with the opening TV advertisement and "passing it on".

competely agree - it would also be a cheap viral way of spreading the message whilst not actually sending unsolicited emails.

Make Rhys Darby the default voice for the IVR...and for voicemail.

I can hear it now: "Oh, there was no answer...Typical".

Handsomedan: Make Rhys Darby the default voice for the IVR...and for voicemail.

I can hear it now: "Oh, there was no answer...Typical".

LOL I love it.

But please please please don't make it annoying like the ISP I once called (they will be thankful I can't remember which) that had some annoying tweenage girl complaining "man I hate being on hold" or something like that on a periodic basis.

Yeah, I'd be happy with 3G, lowish data costs and lowish cost texts to any network. I rarely call on my mobile, but again that's because of cost.
