Maybe once they get a bit bigger they might start getting in to the data stuff. i think they are trying to go for the consumer space at the moment and they are doing that with low plans and low contracts.

Hold the phone campers!
Of course there will be data, depending on your handset you'll be able to send and receive emails and surf the net etc, etc....

Cheers!

I'd say the poster did not clearly state the question to the help desk. Wouldn't be his first communication mistake, would it?

Probably gprs and edge but no 3G at launch, which I think has been discussed a bit on here.

Perhaps the question itself needs to be clarified first...
When referring to data....... generally it means - mobile broadband, ie gprs or whatever.
But in this case are we talking about

- Mobile Broadband or WAP or Handset based data?

* Will 2DM offer WAP access - yes

* Will 2DM offer Mobile broadband - yes/no ?

* Will 2DM have data plans or will it data be charged on a prepay basis?

* What type of Mobile broadband - ?

* Will 2DM offer access to mobile data on capable handsets (such as iphones) yes/no?

* Will 2DM offer mobile data on broadband modems (data cables/air cards) yes/no?

The helpdesk may not know the difference... ?

Not having a data plan is different from not having data.

Your first post indicates you were concerned about not having any data access at all.

I'm pretty sure 2degrees WILL have data available for use. They just won't have 3G at launch.

There will be no 3g, but there will be gprs/edge.
No plans have been lauched yet so the csr might just not know yet.
